Initial Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2015/08/14) */
The client in question received a letter from the IRS in regarding her taxes only (not as stated) and referencing a missing The was not faxed to our office during the tax filing season as stated in the complaint
In fact, in earlier correspondence the client even stated "Maybe (it) was faxed to your office, maybe you forgot to request one, I'm not sure." We track all documents that come into this office and did not receive or misplace any for her fileIt wasn't until October 17, 2014, after we instructed her to request a from her broker, that we received the first copy of said The brokerage account in question had large liquidations both in and to support real estate purchases by the clientBased on the liquidations in and the lack of a provided for 2012, we were under the reasonable impression that the account had been closed in Additionally we have a signed engagement letter with the client that expressly states that she (the client) is responsible for providing us with documentation necessary to prepare her tax return, which she failed to doIt also explains that it is her responsibility to carefully examine and approve the completed tax return before signing and that we are not responsible for inadequately supported documentation, or resulting taxes, penalties and interestThis particular client had a history of every year showing up for her tax appointment with incomplete tax documentation and often stated things during the tax interview that conflicted with her written records given to our officeTherefore each year it was often a challenge to get the needed documentation from her to complete the taxes but we tried to do our best in being diligent and complete in that processThe fact that we may not have noticed a missing document from a client that was always missing documents is very reasonable given the state of her records provided annuallyThe resulting corrections to her return required a fairly extensive amount of work because the missing brokerage activity resulted in an adjustment to a net operating loss carryover to as wellWe completed both amended returns and charged the client only $325, which is much less than she would have been charged at many other CPA firms given the amount of work that was requiredWe strive to provide a high level of professional service to our clients and, just like our client said she doesn't want to hurt her credit score by not paying, we don't appreciate our image being threatened by someone who's opinion of what their level of responsibility is doesn't necessarily agree with othersAs part of our client engagement letter we have a clause that states any fee disputes are to be settled by the American Arbitration Association under its Rules for Professional Accounting and Related Services DisputesWe suggested this client contact the Association, but to our knowledge no effort was made on her part to resolve this through the legally agreed upon channelsSubsequently the client has decided to pay her bill and we have received payment in full for this charge in questionTherefore our desired resolution for this matter would be that you would refer the client back to the appropriate channels for any future fee disputes and that this matter be expunged from our record with the Revdex.com
Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (3000, 7, 2015/08/18) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
The WAS faxed and then misplaced by his officeMrCoonrod refused to consider this and demanded payment under a threat of sending a $bill to collectionsIf he had suggested that there is no real proof who was at fault, and would accept a 50/split of the bill, I would have accepted the compromise and paid $
Final Business Response /* (4000, 13, 2015/09/09) */
The was not faxed to, or lost by our office and we can prove that through our fax logThat is simply a statement and has no business even being published hereHighly disappointed that the Revdex.com allows unsubstantiated claims to become part of a permanent record on their site.::

This is our response to the claim of "Customer Service Issues: that our customer filed with the Revdex.com about our companyWe began working with our customer in early to assist them with their business accounting needs, and it later turned into a tax preparation engagement as
wellThrough our initial meeting we were informed that the customer's father was the sole owner and officer of the businessThe father then gave us permission to run everything through the son since he handled almost all of the operationsFrom the beginning of our time as their accountant we had been requesting a copy of their previously filed tax return to compile management's financial reportsHowever, after several requests, we were unsuccessful in obtaining the returnThe business return was due on march 15, 2017, and since we had not yet received their books and records, we filed a form with the government to request a 6-month extension of time to complete and file their tax returnTwo days later they brought us their records and we took an "Accountants Copy" and returned their records to them so they could continue their day-to-day operationsWith that said, their claim that "months of their bookkeeping records were lost" is because we simply received a copy, and the original file was returned to them on the laptop computer they picked upContrary to what the son states, we had opened their business books, gone through them and were nearly ready to prepare their returnHowever, the information we needed to stheir tax return was never provided (the prior year tax return). There have been several delays and phone calls with the sonHowever, the phone calls were the final reason we advised them they need to find another accountantThe son may have called more times than we are aware of, because he would call the office and, if we were not available to take a phone call, he would refuse to provide his name, company name or a way to contact the person calling our officeOther times he would call and provide a name to our staff, and after to "***" it would be revealed that it was actually the sonThe last time that he contacted our office he was informed that we were not available, and was asked for his contact information so we could return his callThis set him off as he refused to believe that we were unable to speak to himI had actually left the office for a meeting at a different client's office and therefore could not be "puled" form my meetingWhile he claims to have "angerly hung up," our staff informed us that he insinuated the they were lying to him and screening calls, and after several minutes of this back and forth he told them to GO F* YOURSELF" and hung up on themThe next day we called them and had to leave a voicemail informing them that we would no longer be able to work with their business and asked them to pick up their paperwork, which they promptly didWhile taking with the father, we informed him that we would delete the digital copy of their books, which we did, since their records we still intact on their computer and we only had an "accountants copy."While here may have been some unnecessary delays in completing their, taxes, the extension was filed before they ever brought us the information, which did NOT included the required tax returnNone of this warrants the customer (the son) refusing to provide us with his identity or being rude and abusive to our staff

I am rejecting: The response from Cnrod was as expected I want to say first that I am not the first to make a complaint with the Revdex.com in regards to this firm I would encourage others to look at the reviews and background of this company and their unwillingness to take care of the customer when a customer service issue arisesThis company is so brazen that they will not refer to me by name and yes they are correct in many cases I refused to give my name or personal info to the front desk assistant soly due to the sensitivity of the subject matter Cnrod deals with (ie personal financial info) However, in thier Revdex.com response it is obvious from thier statement that even though I did not want to give my name to the front desk help they still knew who I was The BOTTOM LINE is simple, when I call in and ask for OUR accountant by name I DO NOT need to be screened and givin a run around by the receptionist, I just need to be transferedScondly, I also want to state that I was NEVER repeatedly asked to provide ANY tax documents The response I got EVERY TIME was they were to busy to attend to my taxes but would "be on it soon." That later changed to "Were working on it and have a few questions." Which what those questions are I have no idea being that I could never get them to give them to me I might add that I did all the follow up to/with Cnrod and at NO point did they ever reach out to me EVERHad I never tried to contact them I doubt I would have ever heard anything from them Cnrod is correct in stating that our "departure" from one another was not nice, however they did NOTHING for almost months and blew us off because they were to busyI will also adamantly state that towards the end they alluded to at least starting on our taxes but come to find out they did NOTHING of the sortEven if they had requested our previous years tax return they should have followed up with me on it I had no CLUE that they were wanting it and feel that they are now just using this as an excuse to cover their total mess up regarding this matterI feel we were totally let down by this company and it is now turned into a finger pointing event WE, at the time, were the customer and should have been adressed as suchInstead all Cnrod wants to do is shed all blame and and accountabilityThis is simple, Cnrod dropped the ball and im asking them to pick it up in good faith by Apologizing and Refunding us for what they LOST which is going to cost us money and time I would like a reimbursement for the charge we will incure to reproduce what they lost I will incure other fees as well to clean up their mess a lot of which is time lost If I could put a price tag on the time lost I would but thats easier said than doneIf Cnrod is willing to comply I would be happy to send them a bill showing exact costs to us and will happily drop this case and move onThank you
