All this was done to the best of my ability.I returned to the residence multiple times following completion of the project for minute things that seemed to be big issues for Ms. [redacted]. Ms. [redacted] admitted to me that she would sit and have her morning coffee and stare at the kitchen and “little things, bug me….” When she contacted me a fourth time about cabinet doors being crooked or “not perfect” I found it hard to justify the time, I am very busy and do not have 2 or more days to return and redo the work for her.Her home is older, out of plumb and trying to get things to hang and STAY perfect is a nightmare. Ms. [redacted] and I discussed this in the early stages of the project, that removing everything and starting from scratch would not guarantee a “perfect” kitchen. So, in the effort to save her money we agreed to work with the existing cupboard, put on new doors with fresh paint. I went to Sherwin Williams to get the paint and was assured that the paint purchased would work well for the intended application. I followed the manufacturer’s instructions along with the recommendations of the associates at Sherwin Williams. If the paint is “failing” I would be in hopes that returning the unused portion and filing a complaint with them would bring some satisfaction. We also agreed that using the hinge system that was chosen would save money. Ms. [redacted] at the time was planning on selling her home and did not want to put any more money into than she needed to. In hind sight, I should have had the heavier hinges bored into the doors and been more attentive to the paint that was purchased. I misplaced my trust and made a mistake in using that paint.I am very sorry that Ms. [redacted] is so unhappy with the job that I performed for her. I do believe that we had a complete breakdown in communication. Ms. [redacted] did not call me on the phone to express her dissatisfaction, nor did she send me any photographic proof via e-mail to show exactly what she was talking about. The only contact we add was via e-mails, which were short and contained little information. The weight of the matter was not fully conveyed or understood.  I take great pride in my work and this is the first time I have had this type of issue with a client in 45yrs in the trade.
