AUTOTEXTLIST Re: Complaint [redacted]
Dear Revdex.com:
I am writing in response to complaint [redacted] filed
to the Revdex.com on January 1, by Mr[redacted]. In the complaint he stated even though he had
money in his account, he was charged overdraft fees on 12/21/in the amount
of $
Mr[redacted] had an available balance of $
on 12/That day, the following debit transactions, totaling $36.68, were
authorized but not posted to Mr[redacted]'s account: $8.99, $10.97, $13.72, and
$These authorizations brought his available balance
to
-
On 12/20, the day of the first overdraft, his
available account balance was -.59, when a transaction for $was posted
that day, it resulted in an overdraft feeThat transaction and the overdraft fee
brought his account further into the negative, and once the approved
transactions from 12/posted on 12/and 12/21; they continued to bring his
account negative, resulting in additional fees.
In light of the amount the account was
negative, timing of the transactions, and number of fees, we have credited Mr
[redacted] $
Mr[redacted] has "opted-in" to overdraft
coverage which, for a fee, permits transactions to be approved without
available fundsUnless he opts out of this feature, future transactions with
his debit card will continue to be approved when there are insufficient funds
in his account and will be subject to the applicable overdraft fee when they
are posted to his account
If Mr[redacted] would prefer to opt-out of
overdraft coverage he can simply call 608-243-and we will take the
coverage off his accountIf so, any future debit card transactions may be
denied if funds are not available on his account, and that may cause inconvenience
for him
Thank you,
[redacted]

[redacted], from our collections department, received a VM at at 4:21AM this morning from [redacted].Summit ([redacted]) is resending the required documents to pursue option #1 that we'd provided.  We will send documents to both Mesa, AZ address and Wild Rose, WI address ( she will be back to this address around 10.29.16)  in hopes she gets them . Once returned and signed we will maintenance accordingly.  Thank you.

[redacted]’s concern in the initial Revdex.com complaint was related to an insurance check that was sent from MetLife for an accident she incurred.  As the lienholder of the vehicle, we assisted with the payment directly to the repair shop that [redacted] chose in AZ.  [redacted] authorized the payment to the repair shop to [redacted], VP- Lending, Analytics & Credit Risk, on 2/22/2017.  In addition, the overage funds from the insurance check were placed in [redacted]’s savings account at her request.  under these circumstances, our standard practice is to utilize any remaining funds to toward the principal balance on the outstanding loan, we're the lien holder on.  Considering her situation, we'd decided against that in good faith.  In regards to the newly stated issues she is experiencing with the vehicle, as a result of the tire coming off the vehicle, that is between [redacted] and the repair shop she chose.  If/when [redacted] submits an application for a new car, or additional repairs to the exhisting vehicle, we will review and decision an application, once submitted.  To date, no application has been submitted. We're considering this our final response and the complaint closed.

Re: Complaint [redacted]
Dear Ms. [redacted],
I am writing in response to complaint #[redacted] filed to the Revdex.com on September 16, 2016. In the complaint, you raised concerns about not hearing back from Summit in a timely manner,...

the additional coverage on your loans, and payment arrangements options.
Unfortunately, in review of your situation and account status you did not elect Involuntary Unemployment on loan 1 nor loan 2. You elected Option 3; which covers Loss of Life, Disability, and Family Leave. The separate contracts are attached for your review.
In consideration of your situation, we have two options:
1. A reduction in payment via a Subsequent Action form to make concessions on rate/ term- $50.00/ month on L1 (currently $160) and $150/ month on L2 (currently $240)
2. A 2-month extension on each loan
Please contact [redacted], AVP-Collections, at ###-###-#### to inform of your selected option.
Additionally, in response to your concern regarding our timeliness to respond, I apologize. As a result of the member experience you’ve described, we’ve credited your account $100.00 for our delay in response time.
Thank you for your membership.

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.It appears everything has been corrected. She did not want to have the reinstatement date of the loans at the end of this month. Not clear why, but I just want this resolved; which basically it is now. Thank you for your assistance,[redacted]

At the beginning of the day 5/13/2017, your account had a balance of $70.15. Your available balance was $2.22 based on purchases you had made that had not yet posted to your account.  You made three purchases and did not have available funds in your account. Because you elected to have...

overdraft  coverage on your account, these purchases were paid and you were assessed a fee for each transaction. I do see that you called and spoke to one of our representatives. We explained that when you make a purchase with your debit card, merchants don’t always post them to your account immediately. The funds are held until the purchase transaction is posted to your account.  The same situation occurred on your account on 5/19/2017. Numerous transaction were made on the account that day, some posting immediately and others creating a hold until the purchase posts to the account. Our representative choose not to refund additional fees as the credit union did not make an error and we had recently refunded fees and explained this to you. When using your ledger to keep track of your balance, it is important to note each purchase as you make them. Then you will have a better idea of what you actually have left to spend. In order to prevent additional situations like this which will cause more fees, I would be happy to remove your overdraft coverage. When you make purchases in the future and funds are on hold for other purchases, the transaction will be declined and you will not be charged a fee. If you would like me to do that, please let me know.  As a courtesy to you I will refund one of the two fees charged to your account on the 19th. Please let me know if I can be of further assistance.

February 22, 2017   Department of Financial Institutions State of Wisconsin Attn:  [redacted]   Re. Complaint of [redacted]   Dear Mr. [redacted],   Thank you for bringing this matter to our attention. [redacted] first reached out to us related to...

vehicle repairs and an injury that she suffered after an accident in late December on February 14th via an email to our Member Services area.  When I discussed her concerns with her she indicated she needs her vehicle repaired and wanted us to pay for the repairs.  In addition, she wanted us to pay for her rental car expense.  I explained our relationship as the lienholder and offered to help with the repair process and that she should work with the insurance company to resolve the rental car payments.  At that time she was undecided on the auto body shop she would be using for the repairs.  Our conversations continued and I urged her to locate a repair shop that would invoice for the work vs demanding payment up front as the shops she had spoken with had required so we could assure the repairs would be complete before payment. I explained this would be her best interest for payment to be made after the repairs.  At the same time we offered to issue a letter of guaranty to the repair shop if needed to support the repairs being completed.    [redacted] chose Big O Tires to repair the vehicle.  They were able to invoice for the repairs and kept in contact as the repair was completed over the course of two days.    Summit received a claim check from MetLife in the amount of $4887.91 as a payoff for the loan balance.  We discussed the balance due to Big O Tires and [redacted] acknowledged the final invoice remittance in the amount of $3762.91.  We issued a check to Big O Tires and sent it overnight.  The remaining funds of $1124.92 were placed into [redacted]’s savings account so she could have access to the funds for medical bills or payment for the rental car as she sees fit.  This balance was meant to be paid against the outstanding loan balance, however, we felt that due to [redacted]’s financial situation and her request to pay medical bills and the rental car payment, the funds would be best used as she had requested.         Please let us know if you need anything else regarding this matter. If not, we will consider this matter closed and resolved   Thank you, [redacted] VP Lending, Analytics & Credit Risk Summit Credit Union ###-###-####
