Cooper Plumbing, Inc. Reviews (1)

Review: We built a new home one year ago. Since, our hot water heater has been leaking gas. We have had MG&E to our home twice within the year and finally found that our water heater was the issue. I called [redacted], Owner of Cooper Plumbing, who plumbed our home originally. I said this unit has been leaking gas and I want the unit replaced. He said OK and agreed. The original unit was a tankless water heater and I said I want it replaced with a tank model. Cooper said he would replace however, he could not give me the $900 difference in cost back Tankless cost 2600 per [redacted] and the new tank model cost $1700. I stated that is fine, I also mentioned, maybe we can work on him doing plumbing work as we build out our basement for the difference in cost." [redacted] agreed that we could discuss and "work something out." Never at any point in our conversation did [redacted] state he would be charging us for the replacement water heater. [redacted] always led us to believe that it was a warranty replacement. [redacted] came out to our home and installed the new water heater that was delivered to our home (we never even signed for the new water heater unit) nor were we ever given a formal written estimate stating he would be charging us on billing which further led us to believe [redacted] was replacing due to warranty. After the work was done, [redacted] approached me and asked if I wanted to write him a check for $1700 or would we rather be billed. I was very surprised. We were led to believe that all of this work was under our warranty. We were moving forward based on [redacted]s suggestion for resolution to our faulty tankless water heating unit. Again, we thought it was being replaced due to gas leak and warranty. This is where the dispute starts. If we had ever known he was charging us $1700, we would not have agreed to the new water heater.[redacted]'s lack of communication led our family to believe this was a warranty replacement.Desired Settlement: 1. Lien removed on our home: [redacted]. Per the Navien tankless water heater warranty, [redacted] should come to our home, remove the tank water heater and reinstall the tankless. Then install the new parts that Navien sent him so that our original water heater is operational. 3.Then test the previous tankless water heater thoroughly to ensure there are no more gas leaks.
