Review: I have been a resident at [redacted] for over 4 years. Our two year lease was set to expire July [redacted], 2013. Im filing complaint specifically against [redacted]. She offered a lease renewal at a $300.00 increase raising rent from $2200.00 to $2500.00 per month. in July of 2013 I contacted Cooper Square realty (aka first service residential/ k&t realty) to negotiate the terms of the lease renewal. [redacted] (property manager) was away on maternity leave so she referred us to conduct all business matters with [redacted] making him legal representative of the realty firm. [redacted] agreed to lower the increase to $100.00 raising from $2200 to $2300. After verbal agreement he mailed us a contract lease renewal. The new tenant and I both signed the renewal. On August [redacted], we were instructed by [redacted] to drop off the lease renewal in person at the office and he would receive the form. I dropped off the contract in person at the office but [redacted] did not show up to the meeting so he instructed us to leave at the desk with the receptionist. I asked if he needed any other actions from us i.e. credit check, applications, fees. He said no, and that the lease renewal would suffice and that we need take no further action. 44 days later [redacted] asked us to vacant the unit because they had never recieved the lease renewal. She now wants us to apply to live in the unit all over again and run credits and have us pay large fees. I said that we had a legal binding contract that went into effect August [redacted] and that asking us for more actions 44 days after the contract had set into effect was illegal.Desired Settlement: We would like our verbal and contractual agreement made with [redacted] to hold true, allowing us to stay tenants of the unit until the lease expires on July [redacted], 2014.

We would not have to pay additional fees or have to reapply to live in the home I've already been living in for 4 years. No credit checks or application fees or tax and bank info required from me.
