The original estimate for the repair to the engine was basedon jobs we have done in the past similar to this one. Far more damage was foundonce we started into the job. The repair involved a long process for removal ofa severely corroded bolt from the powerhead of the engine....

   The customer came by to check on progress afew days before the service was completed on his engine. He was advised that itwas taking an excessive amount of labor time to complete the work.  We apologize for this and the fact thebusiness owner was not available to talk with him at that time.  We are going to refund the customer thedifference of $236 to remedy the situation and apologize again for theinconvenience.

Review: I took my boat in for repair and was told by [redacted] the repair cost would be $866.00. [redacted] called when the boat was ready and went immediately to get it. I was told the bill was now $1100.29. No one bothered to mention any increase in the bill prior to my arrival. I was told I could not talk to Mr. [redacted] because he left after calling me. All anyone could say is that Mr. [redacted] should have advised me of an additional labor charge and got my authorization but he did not. I was not prepared to pay the additional amount. This is not a way to treat a customer.Desired Settlement: I would expect a refund of the additional charge. I worked in auto repair and I would not have expected a customer to pay additional unauthorized charges.
