Coopers Renovations Reviews (3)

Mr. and Mrs. [redacted] contacted me when I was 80 percent done with this job and fired me without any prior voicing of discontentment. I only received a 50% down payment toward their master bathroom with the agreement of the remainder being paid upon completion. The only real complaint I understood from...

Mr. [redacted] after firing me was that I used floor mortar on his walls. I explained to him that this was not the case and I had brought the remainder of a bag of floor mortar leftover from another job. He did not accept this explanation. After trying to have a professional conversation with him over the phone, and him being rude and belligerent to me, I followed up with an email. In the email, I offered to have a legitimate inspection company of his choice come in at my expense; because I was very confident in the quality of my workmanship I offered fix anything they found to be incorrectly done. Mr. [redacted] again did not accept this and was rude in his follow up emails. Before this day I was unaware of he or his wife having any problems with my work or the progress on his master bathroom. I had finished his guest bathroom to their satisfaction, which I have emails to show. I was at a loss on the master bathroom because he did not pay for the remainder of the work done nor the remainder of the materials installed and uninstalled that remained in his home. He put my tools at the curb and kept the other materials ( with the exception of the half bag of floor mortar that was to be used to complete his flooring). I can provide all emails between Creative Glass and Granite and Mr. [redacted] to prove his satisfaction in my work and no discontentment being voiced. As well as, the email to show I offered to have the bathroom inspected at my expense and his response.

The tile job that was done by Creative Glass and Granite was not installed correctly in our master bathroom and was unacceptable, as I had explained in my complaint narrative submitted on October 26, 2016. The quality of the paint job by the company was just as bad, if not worse than the tile work. Please see comments I submitted from the new painter I hired, Tim Shoemaker, regarding the challenge he faced to clean up that mess. The choice I am now being given for an inspection company to come and inspect the work done in my master bath makes no sense. The tile, installed by Creative Glass and Granite, has been torn out and replaced already, as I explained in my complaint, and all painted surfaces have been stripped, sanded, and repainted. The choice I am now given is to accept the offer for an inspector to inspect the work that has all been redone by other contractors or else my complaint will be closed and considered invalid? I’m not quite sure how else to answer this request.

Mr. [redacted] does not understand that different thin set is used for large format wall tile than is used for deco wall tiles.  I at no time used the improper thin set for any of the tile set in Mr. [redacted]'s bathroom. The floor thin set bags were left over from a different job and these were to be used on his floor tiles.
