Purchased a tri axle dump truck that turned out to be a total piece of junk,It should never have been on the road, Turns out it was a danger to me and the publicThey refuse t acknowledge this and are fighting me on return of my deposit

I purchased a *** Road Tractor from Coopersburg Kenworth I drove the unit off of the lot on the day of purchase (12/15) and the rear lights went out I took the unit back to the dealer immediately and a technician giggled some wires and the lights came back on Just recently the back lights, head lights, parking lights, and several other electrical related items stopped working in the unit I took it to a certified *** repair facility and they told me that the vehicle was involved in a flood and the electrical problems are due to severe corrosion They told me that they could see the flood line on the truck where the water stopped When I asked the salesman where the truck came from or any history on the truck, he said that he didn't know because they get so many units in at a time

I had to send one of my semi trucks to get repaired on 6-30-I requested the shop check out my truck to figure out what was wrong with itThey contacted me on 6-30-and said that one ubolt was broken and the rearend housing was crackedI asked them to give me an estimate for the repairs to be completed and the estimate was to I asked how long it would take them to complete the repairsI was told no later than 7-3-So I agreed for them to complete the repairsI called several times on 7-1-and early am on 7-3-I spoke with *** to get an update on how the repairs were goingHe still assured me that they should have the repairs completed by closing on 7-3-*** contacted me after lunch on 7-3-to let me know that the repairs would not be completed as promised because it was taking longer to get the parts than they first expectedThe repairs were completed at 1145pm on 7-7-*** called me so I could pay the bill while the mechanics were test dri

corresponding discovery and correction. The info below was taken directly from the repair order # [redacted] and the same info is present on the customer’s copy.   Complaint-CUSTOMER STATES: VIBRATION IN REAR END.  VIBRATION STARTS WHEN THE TRUCK GETS UP TO 20MPH.  VIBRATES WHEN OUT OF GEAR.  CUSTOMER STATES THERE IS OIL ON THE REAR HOUSINGS Cause- TECH TROUBLESHOT THE VIBRATION AND FOUND THAT THE REAR DRIVE AXLE U BOLTS WERE LOSE AND THE REAR WAS MOVING AROUND. Correction- TECH REMOVED ALL PARTS FROM THE OLD HOUSING AND TRANSFERRED TO THE NEW HOUSING, WITH NEW SEALS AND GASKETS, U BOLTS, WEDGES, AXLE REPLACED S CAM BUSHINGS IN THE LEFT SIDE, REPLACED AIR BAG MOUNT ON RIGHT SIDE, ONE ABS SENSOR. TECH REPLACE THE FRONT DIFF OUTPUT SHAFT SEAL AND FILLED BOTH DIFFS.   As you can see from the repair order documentation the issue with the truck was neither simply nor easy to repair. Many portions of the rear suspension and axle system were worn well beyond safe and acceptable tolerances. The vehicle was here for a total of eight business days due to difficulties sourcing parts for the truck. I worked with the customer via phone to bring the bill from nearly $8,000 to our agreed upon price of $6,468.31. Repairing a strap on a-u joint would not have resolved the customer’s complaint given that the vibration occurred when the truck was out of gear. The driveshaft and u-joints aren’t under torsional load at that point. One of the rears was in such poor condition that it needed to be replaced to correct the leaks the customer mentioned.

Please see attached documents.  The Buyers invoice attached shows the unit sold "AS IS" so the customer went all over the truck and found some items that he decided he was going to fix himself and received $3,500.00 back to handle these repairs himself.  The next document shows where we...

purchased the vehicle, [redacted]. auctioneers, which the salesmen was right that we buy many vehicles from auctions and it could have been any of these places.  The next document is a Rid Dig report that shows that the unit was not salvage or in any flood (see page 2 and 3)  it tells you that the unit came from a Oil field company, [redacted] Oilfield Construction, which most people know these trucks are used in fields and can run in mud and water like conditions, that might be what somebody is mistaken as a flood as these units run in a muck/mud environment and might show mud, water lines, rust, due to the fields these were used in. it would seem it wasn't an over the road vehicle, but used on a oil field environment which could be wet and muddy.  So in conclusion, the customer purchased it after checking it all over " AS Is" meaning we didn't fix any items as he chose to get $3500.00 in a check back from us as he chose to do the repairs himself.  the unit was bought at auction, as our salesman said, and finally the independent report states no flood damage and  oil filed operation which would leave mud or wet lines under the bottom of the unit.  we sold it as is, refunded money for repairs the customer wanted to do and was not in a flood.  WE feel sale was correct and true to the customer and he already has been paid for repairs to the truck that he is asking for again which is wrong. any question, please contact me.

Review: On 02/21/2013 I purchased a 2000 Peterbilt truck. I also purchased a one year warranty through Coopersburg Kenworth for $3000.00 that was supplied through [redacted], a commercial truck warranty company. I contacted [redacted] to cancel the warranty and [redacted] refunded me $2000.00 and told me that was all they were responsible for. I then contacted Coopersburg Kenworth And they told me that the dealership went through considerable expense and time to even allow this truck to qualify. My complaint is that, it was [redacted] responsibility to make sure the truck was acceptable for the warranty. If the truck had to go through that process or through an inspection,I should have been told of the service fee. I was not aware that there was a charge and I was not told of that charge or I might not have bought the warranty.Desired Settlement: Refund of the difference of the original price. The warranty was $3000.00,[redacted] refunded me $2000.00,so the difference is $1000.00 Thank you..

I am rejecting this response because I was never informed that there were expenses for the truck to qualify for the warranty. That is a fabricated statement. In regards to your cancellation statement,I bought the truck with a certified bank check. I did not need a warranty. `This matter can be resolved be refunding me the difference in the price I paid for the warranty. Also on your opening letter to the Revdex.com ,I Think you used a poor choice on the word Gentlemen. There are also women in the work place.Thank you!

Response:

The customer was informed and wanted the warranty, insisted on the warranty and signed for the warranty. I sent this in with my response. Including a copy of the customers signed warranty contract. I do not believe anything else needs to be said. He would not buy the truck without the warranty.
