The customer requested a refund on a trip on Aug. 6 afternoon. This is a small business and only the [redacted] can...

sign checks. The [redacted] was not present at the time so we agreed to let him know when it was ready. He returned to get the refund before the [redacted] had returned to process the refund. The customer then returned the morning of Aug 7 at opening to get the refund and the [redacted] was busy with a contractor. He caused a small scene in the store proclaiming he would never do business with us again and he wanted his money now. This behavior occurred in front of other customers who happened to be shopping in the store at the time. This sort of behavior upset the [redacted] when he heard about it. The customer returned again in 1 hour (Aug. 7) and picked up his refund check. This refund was given to him within 24 hours of his original request for it. On receiving the check we merely agreed with him that it would probably be best if he didn't come back in the store again as he proclaimed again in front of other customers present that he was going to tell everyone he knows not to shop here.
This customer has a history of making purchases and changing his mind and asking for a refund later. He has been a customer since April of 2012. We have done 3 previous refunds for him with no complaints, including allowing him to cancel a layaway that should have been non-refundable.
If an apology is due by anyone it would be this customer apologizing for his behavior in the store in front of other customers.
