When the applicant came in to take a tour of a 2-bedroom apartment, the leasing consultant gave the applicant the information they requested before they walked the propertyPart of this information was the $application fee; the applicant was told that the application fee was non-refundable
Once on the grounds, the applicant pointed out where they had parked their road tractor, which was at the very end of the parking lot at the edge of one of the buildingsThe applicant asked if that would be a problem and the leasing consultant's response was that it was no problem because it was only temporary seeing as how the applicant came there to get information and to view an apartmentThe applicant asked if they were approved and had decided to move there, would it be a problem to park the road tractor there on the propertyThe leasing consultant said they would have to talk to the property manager about that, seeing as how the road tractor would be there for so many days out of the month

Review: I applied to rent an apartment and this complex told me that I could not bring

My truck onto the premises. My truck is a road tractor... would have only been there while I was there so 6-8 days a month..Desired Settlement: Well I think if the complex is going to require a certain weight limit then they need to advertise that and not tell me no problem.... also want my application fee back

Business

Response:

When the applicant came in to take a tour of a 2-bedroom apartment, the leasing consultant gave the applicant the information they requested before they walked the property. Part of this information was the $25.00 application fee; the applicant was told that the application fee was non-refundable. Once on the grounds, the applicant pointed out where they had parked their road tractor, which was at the very end of the parking lot at the edge of one of the buildings. The applicant asked if that would be a problem and the leasing consultant's response was that it was no problem because it was only temporary seeing as how the applicant came there to get information and to view an apartment. The applicant asked if they were approved and had decided to move there, would it be a problem to park the road tractor there on the property. The leasing consultant said they would have to talk to the property manager about that, seeing as how the road tractor would be there for so many days out of the month.

The applicant later filled out an application, paid $25.00, and the leasing consultant processed it. After the application process was completed a couple of days later, the leasing consultant talked to the property manager about the applicant's road tractor and the property manager informed the leasing consultant that if they allowed the applicant to do it, that they would have to do it for other truck drivers that resided on the property. This in turn would take up a substantial amount of parking spaces and there wouldn't be enough parking spaces for the other residents. Once the leasing consultant got off the phone with the property manager, they called the applicant to let them know that their application was approved. The leasing consultant explained to the applicant about what the property manager said about the road tractor and they seemed to be okay about it and said they and their fiancé would be by in a few days so the fiancé could look at the apartments.

We apologize for any inconvenience we caused the applicant.
