To Whom It May Concern: This letter is in regards to case# ***, customer *** ***We took his truck in for repair on October 18,Upon disassembly we found that the transmission was in bad conditionWe also discovered at that time that the bearing for the input shaft was goneIt had
apparently left by bits and piecesThe gear works inside the transmission were broken as wellWe ordered in a remanufactured transmission from ITW in Idaho Falls, IdahoWe purchased a clutch kit from Clutch Masters in Billings, MIUpon completion of the installation of these parts I found I was not satisfied with the way the slave cylinder workedI removed the transmission a second time and replace the slave cylinder againWe test drove this vehicle different times and everything seemed to work wellWe returned the vehicle to the owner's wife and daughterThey called us back and told us they were not happy the way it shifted or felt when they drove itWe went and got the truck and took it to Hanser's Automotive a transmission rebuilder and had them test drive itIncluded with this letter you will find a statement from their tech with his opinionWe also took it to Brown's here in Billings to for their opinionThey stated that it could stand to have the system bled a little moreI returned it to my shop and rebled the hydraulics of this systemThe results didn't change so I ordered a different slave cylinder from General MotorsThe original parts were purchased were returned to their place of purchase and the company tested all of those parts to make sure they weren't defectiveThose parts were found to be fineNever the less we purchased different parts which I received this on Monday November 2, at that time we installed the new slave cylinderThis is the third time we have taken this apartWe were trying to be good to these people but they have no patience with usThey stopped payment on their check and turned us in to youWe do our utmost to please our customers, some are easier than othersI think this whole problem boils down to the money they spentOur bill for a remanufactured transmission, clutch kit and master clutch cylinder was $We will try again to get a satisfactory result for them although they have been difficult to work withThe owner of the pickup (*** ***) has yet to drive it the problem has come from his wife and daughterSince they stopped payment on the check they will have to pay cash for the repairs before we will release the pickupYou will find included with this letter opinions from other shops technicians and managers as to the condition of this vehicle

I've read the business response and feel it lacks accuracyThe problem with COR Automotive and particularly the owner, John S***, is over promising and under deliveringOver the years of repairs with him we have overlooked the "Come Back" complaint and the efficiency of MrS***'s Techs
MrS*** asserts the truck was fixedMy wife and daughter who drove the truck in my absent said it was notThe distance away from home and the help I received from family when I was a used car dealer, felt their judgments were sound
What particularly grinds MrS*** is that his professionalism is in question"When I say it is fixed it is fixed" is his attitude and he is not to be questionedWell we have done a lot of business over the years and we have had to take it back our vehicles to get it rightWith this amount of money for a fix, we wanted it done right
Here are the "facts" as I believe them to be true
I towed the truck to his shop on the 15th of October , a Thursday, and I was quoted plus to extra for a clutch and throw out bearing to be replaced as needed and would be done the next day. It was not ready because of freight come back on Monday. It was not readyTuesday not ready, I had already missed four days of work, three because of the overpromise on deliveryFinally I borrowed my wife's car and went to work.
We were called to pick up the truck via a voice mail on October 21st the truck was finished and it was I call play it for whomever wants to listen My wife went to pick up the truck and the bill was He forgot something, she was toldThen when she drove it was not right. She called me
We stopped payment on the check told him as much and he picked up the truckI called him on October 29th and asked if it was finished, he said the shop was to busyHe complained about the work and the parts and the stopped paymentI said I it was a lot of money and I wanted the truck fixed right and would gladly pay him in cash, check credit card whatever form he wanted as long as the truck was fixed
I called again on November 5th to see if truck was readyIt was and was told they took out master cylinder and replaced again. I told him I would not be able to get off work till November 10th, today to pick up the truck
I came to the shop and asked to drive it with a mechanicI was told I can't touch or do anything till the bill was paidI patiently listen while I was "schooled" about all the work that was doneFinally, after enough badgering I gave him the cashier check and drove the truckIt drove and shifted although I still notice the shifting forks are not working smoothlyI went back to ask about the warranty papers because they where not in the truckHe told me on the invoice it said /on the work and partsI asked if I needed to bring it here or anywhere else it was honoredHe said only here and hope to never to see me again!
So the complaint still remainsI incurred loss from the days off, rental car expense, inaccurate quote to and he said 24/on the remanufactured transmission when I was first quotedNow I don't even know what I have12/12000 on something at bottom of the invoice
Obviously, I would not recommend this business
