We were hired originally with the intention of doing the installation of the door with 2 coats then to come back and do the final 3rd coat during the spring/summer. The paint requires a warmer temperature to dry properly. The original coating was not the finished coat and I expressed this to...

them. It was very unfortunate that the installation that was installed was not done properly. I did apologize for this many times and we made every effort to fix all the mistakes that were made. We at no point put an interior door on the exterior of the building. The house was secured at all times. The temporary door that is claimed to be unsafe was a 6-Panel Primed Steel Entry Door purchased from home depot. Something used in millions of homes around america. I was only ever given the $2000 dollar deposit. We spent nearly $10,000 getting this project completed to the owners satisfaction. The experience that our company went through was unpleasant to say the least. The home owners had issues with there existing lock equipment that they blamed on us. We came out a late night call to help fix the lock when it was broken by no fault of our own. I did not charge and had no intention of charging to do the homeowner a favor. This happened multiple times. We then proceeded to receive threatening phone calls that were completely unwarranted. I have lost a tremendous amount of money on this Job, and did not ask for your remaining 1900 dollars. You got to spend 2000 on a door that cost me around 10 grand. We completed to the best of our ability and you got to keep your money. I'm sorry for the unpleasnt experience and all the mistakes, I just did my best to honor our companies word.

Review: We hired and paid half of the fee ($2000) to Corbel Constuction to replace our front door and door frame. The existing door was unattractive, and the door did not fit in the frame properly leaving gaps which let in cold/hot air. After a freezing fall, we began work with Corbel in January. It is July and the work is not complete. The first door and door frame that was built and installed was poorly built and painted (drips all over, debris in the paint) and of shoddy construction (the frame). In addition, the issue of the gaps was not fixed - the entire point of the exercise. We have been working with them to replace both of these items for 4 additional months, and they have been unable to complete. They are unresponsive, commit to times and then make excuses, and do shoddy work (installing a door key pad upside down; putting in a temporary door that is a flimsy bedroom door for an exterior door on a Brooklyn street). The workers, with the exception of one, are inept and receive little communication. The [redacted] is not focused on the project. We are continually lied to. I have paid my nanny to sit during the installation repeatedly, and then it is not completed, or they cancel at the last minute (which I have to pay for anyway). I have wasted hundreds of dollars in heating and AC that have escaped out the door. My children and I froze during the worst NYC winter in years (we had to wear coats indoors), and are now sweating all summer, and have felt unsafe for the last 8 days due to a poor quality temporary door.Desired Settlement: This job needs to be finished with no more excuses, and with the complete focus and attention from the [redacted], including being on site during the entire installation to ensure quality installation and process.
