Core Alternatives

I contracted Scott G, the contractor for Core Alternatives in April 2017 for a 4 week master bath remodel. Four and a half months later, and numerous errors and plumbing damage later, the project was finally finished.
He and his son were there almost every day in the beginning to do the demo and were very pleasant. But Scott would then say he would be there certain days, but not show up for days at a time, even a week once, wouldn't answer texts or messages.
I picked all my materials in April, he didn't order anything until very late, then it would be on backorder because the season was in full swing by then. He was always nice to talk to, but did not follow through. He didn't order enough material and my tile guy had to stop twice until more could be sent. He didn't order my quartz from the guy I wanted (I had built the whole project around this quartz). Though he knew, he didn't tell me for weeks that his supplier couldn't get it unless I paid twice the cost. So I found the certified dealer and connected him with Scott, but Scott was to install it, then didn't do it right.
He gave out our house security code to a subcontractor, something we established in the beginning was only for him to have.
I paid him in stages, and after I paid for most of the products, they were in my garage for awhile, then were gone. ??? We couldn't fire him then since we paid for so much already.
His plumber, some personal old guy friend who called himself a Master Plumber out of Windsor, kept letting my dogs out, so I had to lock them up every day and pay for a sitter, but then Scott wouldn't show up most of the days he said he would, so I paid her for nothing.
About this time, I looked back on Revdex.com site and began to see similar reviews pop up. The problems were consistent, promises not kept, disappearing without communicating, and not paying his subs. Sadly these reviews are now gone and I have to wonder why Revdex.com would take them down, they are to warn people.
The project was 3/4 done, then Scott's plumber broke the self cleaning toilet on installation and didn't even seem to know it, he hooked up pipes crooked under my sink and it leaked and warped my new cabinets. Then he hooked up the intake under the toilet wrong, it leaked water into my beautiful professionally finished basement wall, requiring a 4-5 foot hole to be cut in the ceiling for repair, took 2 weeks for Scott to get that done.
Materials weren't ordered on time, then Scott wouldn't order enough. I paid in stages, always what he asked, so it wasn't a matter of him not having the money from me.
So much more happened but I hope the essence of "BEWARE", DO NOT USE THIS PERSON" comes through. He was a good carpenter, but not a good contractor. And one more thing; prior reviews noted he would not pay subs and they would get bills later. I ran into 2 subcontractors in the community who would not work with him again for this reason. When I paid my final amount, on the day it was finally finished in September!, I had him sign a note saying he agreed to pay all subs in full within 30 days. He said "no problem", he had already paid them. Another lie, 6 weeks later I got a bill from the quartz company. Not a big bill, but still, I called Scott, he said he just forgot. Had to get my husband involved to get him to pay it.
This project consumed our lives the whole summer, my children are still angry at all the problems he causes.
