The customer entered in to an month contract for semi-private personal training classes The client was emailed a copy of his/ her contract upon the day of enrollment After a month of being unable to attend the classes, due to a change in the clients schedule, the client requested to cancel his/ her contract The client was informed that the contract was not able to be cancelled, but that a “freeze” was an option When the client explained that his/ her schedule would not be changing in the near future and a “freeze” would not resolve the issue, we offered to pro-rate the semi-private classes in to one-on-one sessions We have personal trainers available from 4:30am until 8:00pm as well as availability on Saturdays; we can accommodate even the busiest of clients The client also declined this offer and requested, again, to be released from the contractCore Concepts Personal Training has been more than fair in an attempt to accommodate the customer, but unless we terminate the agreement the customer will not be satisfied As a company, we uphold our position and the contracted terms We will not concede to cancelling the contract However, our offers of a freeze and/ or a pro-rated one-on-one program still stand

Revdex.com: I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] , and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.Beware of Core Concepts practices! When I signed up the sales/trainer person played with my emotions saying that I am the type that has to have accountability or I will never succeed in getting healthy or fitI was feeling very bad about myself at the time, I told her I could not afford lessons and she went on the say but can you afford ~$a month for semi-privateI said I think I could do thatShe never said the contract was for monthsIn my emotional state she got me to sign up, but I was under the assumption the contract was cancel-able or at least month-to-month since the gym was monthlyI do not think playing with people’s emotions to get them to sign up for something that has no cancellation clause is very deceitfulShame on me for not reading the small printMy email was not working when they sent a copy of the contractI asked for cancellation only after weeks of joining, unfortunately this is when I finally saw the contract. After finding out the contract had no cancelation clause and that I had inadvertently signed up for months the sales/training person what rude and it became a hostile environment to workout inI do not feel comfortable or safe working out with Core Concepts and I think they should provide some form of cancelationHow dare they play with people’s emotions and self-esteem, this has caused undue emotional damageI will be talking with a lawyer Regards, [redacted]

When I signed up the sales/trainer person played with my emotions saying that I am the type that has to have accountability or I will never succeed in getting healthy or fit. I was feeling very bad about myself at the time, I told her I could not afford lessons and she went on the say but can you afford ~$90 a month for semi-private. I said I think I could do that. She never said the contract was for 18 months. In my emotional state she got me to sign up, but I was under the assumption the contract was cancel-able or at least month-to-month since the gym was monthly. I do not think playing with people’s emotions to get them to sign up for something that has no cancellation clause is very deceitful. Shame on me for not reading the small print. My email was not working when they sent a copy of the contract. I asked for cancellation only after 2 weeks of joining, unfortunately this is when I finally saw the contract. After finding out the contract had no cancelation clause and that I had inadvertently signed up for 18 months the sales/training person what rude and it became a hostile environment to workout in. I do not feel comfortable or safe working out with Core Concepts and I think they should provide some form of cancelation. How dare they play with people’s emotions and self-esteem, this has caused undue emotional damage. I will be talking with a lawyer.

The customer entered in to an 18 month contract for semi-private personal training classes.  The client was emailed a copy of his/ her contract upon the day of enrollment.  After a month of being unable to attend the classes, due to a change in the clients schedule, the client requested to...

cancel his/ her contract.  The client was informed that the contract was not able to be cancelled, but that a “freeze” was an option.  When the client explained that his/ her schedule would not be changing in the near future and a “freeze” would not resolve the issue, we offered to pro-rate the semi-private classes in to one-on-one sessions.  We have personal trainers available from 4:30am until 8:00pm as well as availability on Saturdays; we can accommodate even the busiest of clients.  The client also declined this offer and requested, again, to be released from the contract. Core Concepts Personal Training has been more than fair in an attempt to accommodate the customer, but unless we terminate the agreement the customer will not be satisfied.  As a company, we uphold our position and the contracted terms.  We will not concede to cancelling the contract.  However, our offers of a freeze and/ or a pro-rated one-on-one program still stand.
