I rec'd email from [redacted],on site mgr.stating I owed a bill.Called her to state I have never even been there, she was very uncooperative & ugly.I received an email from [redacted], listed as on site manager stating I owed electric bill.As I have never even heard of this place, I called today & asked her how she got my name & email address and all she would say it must be a typo.I said how can stealing someone's email address be just a typo & she got very nasty & refused to tell me how she got my email and complete name nor said she would investigate.I am 71 yrs.old and know how easy it is to scam older citizens & I just wanted an explanation of where she found my name and email address to send me a bogus electric bill but she refused to tell me. She said is was confidential! How can it be confidential when it involves the person she's billing?! I want the owners of this place to realize how she is treating people, expecially when that person feels they are being scammed and don't appreciate getting bogus emails.Desired SettlementAn apology from the Owner of this business in writing and an explanation in detail of how this happened. [redacted] would not explain nor said she was sorry and then hung up on me. Very unprofessional and disrespectful.Business Response We are a Marina and a lodge. Our marina customers pay for their individual electric use each month. I send them bills. One of our customers is [redacted], not this [redacted] but a [redacted]. He had given me a new email address for himself recently when he relocated his boat for the summer. When I sent the email to him I used his old email and the one I thought was his new email which popped up automatically in my email outlook address book. This [redacted] called me this morning accussing me of sending her a bogus email with a bill in order to scam her! I asked her to tell me what was in the email and when she did I told her to disregard it that apparently the second email address was incorrect, but I knew for sure the intended party had the email because I got word this morning that he was calling me to pay it. I apologized.Well that was not enough. Because the email spoke of his wife [redacted] (and this woman has a relative named [redacted]) she just would not let go of it and wanted me to explain the bill to her. I told her the bill had nothing to did with her, and that I didn't need to explain it, it was obviously sent to her in error again apologized. She then proceeded to call me a liar. That was enough. I told her I was busy, and if she didn't believe me by all means to contact the correct [redacted] at the other email address that was on the email she received and have him verify it. I told her to have a nice day and hung up.I then proceeded to call [redacted] that I know and to give him a heads up that he might hear from a lady who mistakenly got a copy of the email intended for him. He thanked me and said he'd deal with it if he did. There's nothing more for me to do. It was an error. I apologized and asked her to disregard it. But instead she wrote to Revdex.com and filed a complaint because she apparently doesn't understand that it's possible for someone to place a wrong email address on an email being sent to another party. Consumer Response This response is not acceptable because it came from the manager I had the complaint against, not the owner of the company whose apology I requested.I did not call her a liar although I did not hear her apologize during the conversation we had because she would not let me even finish a sentence and her explanation of how she obtained MY email address is definitely bogus. She says my email address popped up in her email address book so how does that happen when I have never heard of this company and certainly never sent an email to them?My email address was somehow obtained by her and she did not get it from the customer she says was supposed to receive the email and copies of the bills she sent to me. This was really sloppy business practice but what upset me after asking her to explain how she got my email address, she became rude. I worked in customer service all my life so obviously she doesn't understand the meaning of "be nice to the customer" and even though I've never used their services, there is such a thing in this life as treating others the way you would like to be treated. I would still like the owner to apologize for her behavior.Final Business Response On the contrary I know full well what being nice to the customers entails and anyone who reads [redacted] will note that I have NEVER been referred to as rude to any of our customers, and in fact quite the opposite is true.Perhaps one day this lady will come to understand that lots of people use their own names and numbers in their email addresses as their own email address. I can only assume that I either typed the second email my customer gave me incorrectly the first time I used it, thus it was still in our system that way, or that it was in this system because someone prior to me over the course of the past 5 years knows this lady. I don't know at this point. But her first concern was that I had stolen her email address with the intent of trying to defraud her. I have said repeatedly that it was a mistake, I have apologized repeatedly and I have asked her to disregard it. She seems unable or unwilling to accept my apology, to understand what happened and intent on making something out of this that it isn't.No one needs to apologize to her from here. I am responsible for my words and actions and I've done all I know how and it's not enough.I was gracious to her until she kept insisting that I had attempted to defraud her and wanted me to explain a bill to her that had NOTHING to do with her. I refused to do that because it had nothing to do with her. IF I wanted to defraud her it would seem clear that I would have gone out of my way to insist this email was to her and that she needed to pay it. Just the opposite transpired. As soon as she explained to me what the email said, I knew it was not intended for her and I asked her to disregard it.I hope her poor mail man never puts someone else's mail in her mail box, he will clearly have hell to pay.
