Core Recoveries LLC (Core) is a debt collection agency that specializes in the collections of federal defaulted student loans.? Core takes all complaints very seriously and was notified of this complaint on August 22, 2017.? We have researched the facts of this situation.? Our
findings indicate that the claimant’s home phone number was associated with this account when it was assigned to our company for the collection of a defaulted federal student loan on June 9, 2017.? Accordingly, Core made several reasonable attempts over a period of approximately two months to locate the consumer at this phone number but was unable to connect with anyone.? On August 11, (the date of this complaint), Core received an inbound call from the claimant at the same phone number.? The claimant indicated that they were not the consumer which Core was attempting to reach.? Accordingly, the phone number was immediately removed from the consumer’s file and no additional attempts have been made to this phone number since that date.? Based on the claimant’s desired settlement, Core has determined that no further actions are required to resolve this issue? Account notes documenting our attempts to this phone number and communication with the claimant are available but have not been attached to our response in an effort to protect the private information of the consumer
