* *** *** *** *** *** ** ***In response to the customer's claims I spoke personally to Mr*** explaining the situation underwhich the misunderstanding came about. As he states accurately in his account, it was his realtor that contacted me on their behalf. When I spoke to him, I disclosed my fee upfront for the inspection. Apparently, the realtor did not pass this information on to his clients. When I met them at the property, the realtor and Mrs*** were on site. Mr*** was not present. I did my inspection, limiting it to the items that they were most concerned with and gave them a verbal assessment and an estimate of repairs. I asked at that time if they needed a written report or if the verbal assessment would suffice. I had already talked to the realtor when he first contacted me about the difference in fee given the two scenarios. He responded that they would like a written report which I provided to him later. Attached is a copy of that report. After speaking with Mr***, it was apparent that he did not receive a copy of the report. It appears that the realtor did them several disservices. Regarding the collection process, again all of our contact had been with the realtor so the invoices were sent to the *** care of the realtor. Again he failed to forward these on to his clients or contact us to have us bill the client directly. After some time of the bill not being paid, we contacted the realtor and he requested that we send the bill directly to the homeowner and provided us their contact info. After more time of non payment, we attempted to collect the debt. That is when we found out that the realtor was negligent in relaying the information to his clients. Due to the fact that it was their realtor who was negligent, we have agreed to drop all outstanding debts associated with this account. Please extend our apologies to the *** for any inconvenience. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questionsThanks,*** ***, PE, SE Core Structure Group
