I purchased *** plus home 11-months ago from Cornerstone Homes and have unresolved warranty issues from both the 45-day and the 11-month report. A house inspection revealed a safety issue with garage door opener plus ceiling cracks, chipped granite on counter tops, windows are not caulked (we are told we are responsible for caulking), terrible paint and caulking issues, glue in master bedroom mirror lip, fireplace separating from wall, and many other issues that have not been corrected. Emails to the warranty office are not responded to. Cornerstone has been a terrible company to deal with once you are moved in. $*** home with so many safety and cosmetic issues that are still not repaired. I submitted my 45-day warranty report, watched them scan it into the computer and was told that it had been lost - this company is disreputable as far as making their mistakes right. Desired outcome would be to have my house put into condition it should have been from the beginning with all safety, caulking and cosmetic issues fixed.
Attached are the New Home Orientation Punchlist and 45 service items for the Complaintants Home purchased from Cornerstone Homes. Every item on the NHO list has been initialed as complete by the Homeowner. We also have multiple documents containing the signoff for all of the 45 Service items from the Complaintant. This directly contradicts the statement from the homeowner that they have open 45 day service items. I will agree that they have open 11 month service items but we have just received these request for service and the warrantable items are scheduled to be completed by our contractors. There is one item which they believe should be handled by Cornerstone Homes but unfortunately is considered a homeowner maintenance item and will not be handled by our Company. The Complaintant does not like this answer and has filed this complaint in an effort to leverage us to take care of the item for them. We will not change our policy regarding items that are homeowner maintenance as that would be unfair to all our other homeowners that understand the warranty policy and follow the guidelines outlined in the Performance Guidelines established by the National Association of Homebuilders. Cornerstone Homes remains committed to fulfilling all our obligations related to warranty and service to this homeowner and all our homeowners.
I bought a Cornerstone home in *** and I am so pleased. They have been responsive to my service requests. I have a very comfortable home.
Cornerstone Homes has ignored my requests for warranty repairs to my home and property. I have filled the required forms with them for service but they have not fixed the issues. I did meet with their maintenance supervisor who stated that that he would fix one of the issues that afternoon or the next day. This took place in early June. They have not addressed any of the issues. I have left phone messages with a person responsible for maintenance to get a response to the issues but I do not get a reply.
I have emailed Mr. directly to get him to send me, as President of the CH Construction and Cornerstone Homes his warranty request. Any items on his list, which are valid warranty items, will be correctly promptly by our Company. There has obviously been an oversight in our warranty process and Mr. was unfortunately not attended to properly. We will apologize to him for the inconvenience that we have caused him. It is not our intention to avoid correcting any legitimate warranty item.
