Cornerstone Inspection Services Reviews (%countItem)
Terrible experience. Missed 20K + worth of things structurally and mechanically wrong with our home. Buyers beware!!!!
When purchasing the home I now own, Cornerstone was referred by my realtor. The inspection went great, everything was very thorough in the report or at least we thought. After moving in shortly thereafter, we noticed outlets in the master bedroom did not work properly. One outlet that was not controlled by the switch had problems, along with 2 others in the room, when you turned off the switch, the light would flicker on and off and the outlet down the adjoining wall would stop working. In calling Cornerstone, they sent out another inspector to look at them, in testing the outlets and he found there were shorts in them or that there were some wiring issues, that obviously couldn't been seen unless tearing out walls, and we were warned not to use those particular outlets as it could be hazardous. That was August of 2017, the inspector that came out was very nice, as was the inspector that originally inspected the house, and we were given the name and phone number for the owner, Randy. In calling the office and only ever getting to speak to a receptionist, who always says there is no one else to speak with (including the owner), calling both inspectors (with them telling me to call Randy and that they would pass the message along to him), and calling Randy's cell phone multiple times, this problem has not yet been resolved. If this had been caught at the time of inspection, this would have been fixed before we bought the house or we would have at least had the knowledge that it needed to be fixed. We were told by the second inspector, that Randy would have an electrician come out to our house to fix this problem and now almost a year later, we still have the issue and cannot use 3 of the 5 electrical outlets in our bedroom. I would not recommend this inspection company, not for the service received by the inspectors themselves, but for the sheer lack of disregard that the owner seems to have for customer complaint. I have been nice and polite in speaking with the receptionists and the inspectors, so there is no reason for my calls to be completely ignored by the owner.
We contacted Ms *** multiple times. We called the owners starting in July 2017, 12-19-17,3-16-2018, The last time my electrician called her husband on April 24, 2018 @ 2:30PM he was told that a warranty company was replacing the receptacles in the home and he did not need to come out to the home. Not sure what the issue is as we thought it was handled. I will be reaching out to Ms. today.
