I have my storage unit insurance through cornerstone insurance producers llc located in Lancaster PA. My storage unit got broken into so I started a claim process. I talked to Nyree P and her customer service was completely awful. She didn’t help me one bit nor seemed like she wanted to. All she explained to me was that my online police report wasn’t good enough and I should’ve had a cop come out to do the police report for evidence. The claim directions only said to file a police report and which I did. So therefore my claim is denied and when I mentioned involving my attorney she hung up in my face. All I want is something to compensate for my belongings that got stolen. Which is why I pay insurance every month incase there is a robbery or damages. Now I’m screwed out of my belongings that were stolen and also all the money I gave this ridiculous insurance company over the past years. I will never buy or recommend this insurance company to anyone. They are a scam.

Dear ***:

We are in receipt of your inquiry involving ***' storage unit located in Tulsa, OK. This loss was reported to us on January 6, 2020 with a date of loss of January 6, 2002. The report indicated there was a theft to the belongings stored in unit ***. *** has an ACV policy covering her contents with a limit of $2,000.00.

Based on our investigation we denied coverage for this incident. Please see both the Manager Incident Report (filled out by the facility manager) as well as the Statement of Loss (filled out by the insured). The insured stated on her Statement of Loss form that she got to her unit and the lock was missing. The facility manager reports the customer reported the incident to their office on January 6, 2020.

The policy is clear with its definition of Burglary and defines Burglary as follows: "Burglary: 100% of the amount of insurance for each insured loss by burglary or holdup. The term Burglary shall mean the act of stealing property by forcible entry in the storage space described in the Rental Agreement; however, this coverage only applies when such storage space is securely locked at the time of the forcible entry. Visible signs of forcible entry must be evident. Mere absence of a lock or padlock will not constitute forcible entry."

The policy states under Exclusions: 1. We do not insure: Loss or damage caused by theft or mysterious disappearance, except burglary as covered herein.

By *** own report, she arrived at her storage unit and the lock was missing. I have included a copy of our policy language and coverage denial letter issued on November 8, 2019.

I did call *** to explain the policy and get her version of events. She feels she paid insurance over the past couple of years and this should have been covered. I did explain policies cover some events and not others.

Please let me know if you need anything further from Cornerstone. I can be reached at X.

October 18, 2018 Dear ***:

We are in receipt of your inquiry dated October 2, 2018 regarding the above referenced claim.

I've read ***'s complaint. I reviewed the claim file in question. Our denial is valid based on the investigation into ***'s claim. I can only respond to the portion of his complaint regarding our denial. Our investigation showed there were not any signs of forced entry. Our policy states there must be signs of forced entry. The Manager's Incident Report and a follow up email from them state there were no signs of forced entry. ***'s statement indicates he went to his unit and another lock was on his unit. The facility states they put the lock *** unit when they discovered there wasn't a lock on his unit. I'd also like to point out that if this were a covered loss jewelry is excluded from coverage.

I have enclosed the Manager's Incident Report, ***'s Statement, the Police Report, and the follow up email with the facility manager. Enclosed you will also find a copy of the policy, the Declarations page, and denial letter issued to ***. Please let me know if you need anything further from Cornerstone. I can be reached at .

Today I called on behalf of one of our customers who filed an insurance claim. The customer received a letter and she didn't understand what it meant and was upset because she thought her claim was denied. I called Cornerstone and inquired about this claim, I was put on brief hold and transfer to a lady who stated that the later doesn't say it was denied but is a "Reservation of Rights" letter. Then she questioned why am I calling for this matter, I was in the middle of explaining to her that the customer was upset and I offered to call to find out more about the letter but the representative interrupted me half way thru and from the beginning of the conversation there was a tone in her voice. At this point, I pointed out that this person is a customer of ours and she came in very upset, and that I did not appreciate her attitude towards the situation. She then cut me off and abruptly hung up the phone on me. I called back twice and was sent to voicemail. The woman I spoke to should be retrain in customer service. She works as an adjuster or rep not really sure, never the less she is dealing with people who at some point contacted her because they lost something. She was unprofessional, and yelled as she was hung up the phone on me. That is no way to deal with a customer.
The claim I called about was #***, time of the called was around 9:30 am est.

Cornerstone Operations Group LLC is a crooked insurance company that is paid through *** to cover damages of the personal property of the renters who incur losses with their units.

I am a victim of the fake insurance company Cornerstone Operations Group LLC.

This company needs to be investigated for fraud. I paid for insurance through *** who offers this fake insurance company to renters for personal property loss.

I have loss ALL of my personal property at *** (should be renamed ***)when I contacted the phony insurance company I received a letter from Nyree P *** that states they do not cover damages caused by "insects, rodents, vermin.

Cornerstone needs to be investigated they are collecting money from renters and they have no intentions of paying any claims.

Their waivers and disclaimers are written in very small font and a lot of verbiage in the contract so that anyone that purchase insurance from them will have to really study the contract to find what's covered and what isn't, the business rating that this company deserves is a big fat "F".

I AM SEEKING REIMBURSMENT FOR DAMAGES!

[To assist us in bringing this matter to a close, you must give us a reason why you are rejecting the response. If no reason is received your complaint will be closed as Answered]

Complaint: ***

I am rejecting this response because:
The claims manager Ms. C continues to mention a date of loss for my claim when I indicated the date was the date of discovery.

Regardless of her terminology I have suffered great personal loss. It doesn't matter how Ms. C attempt to dress up or cover up the fact that I lost ALL of my valuables.
Ms C also stated " we are approved by the State of Florida to conduct business in Florida as are our policy forms". " Our intent as a company is to promptly and fairly pay losses covered under the terms ofthe policy".Ms. C mentioned being approved by the "State of Florida", as if the state agrees with they way her company does business. No, that is not the case, it just means Ms. C that your business has obtained a license and the "State of Florida" have not investigated your business practices. Why so, well for one ......there are countless drivers that have obtained their license in the State of Florida yet many break the law , when they are held accountable for breaking the law can they maintain " I have a license" , absolutely not. Ms. C your company should treasure the license that you have obtainedwith the State of Florida and conduct yourself with the highest of integrity. You should not just have "intentions" to be fair as indicated in your letter, but it should be your company's mission.Yes, I maintain that your company is fraudulent. I do believe your company have "intentions" the "intentions to defraud". May the public beware!
