Review: My son entered into a detox program with Cornerstone on August 14, 2014. I agreed to pay $300 per night for my son, to enter into the detox program. My son negotiated this daily rate with Samantha Stone. I also spoke with Samantha Stone about the $300 per night for my son. I paid a total of $2,100, for 7 nights. My son left after 4 nights, after he was cleared by the doctor. Therefore, we are owed a refund of $900 for the three nights I paid for, and for which they did not provide service to my son since he was not there. I called the Business Office a few times during the first week after he was released, and was told the refund would be processed after his case manager, [redacted], updated the file. I was also told I would receive a return telephone call when the refund was processed. On August 28, 2014, I spoke with [redacted]e, and she informed me that there would be no refund, since my son did not stay the entire 7 days, and that now the price was $800 per night. I told [redacted]e that no one had told either my son or myself that the price would change if he left early. My son was cleared by Dr. Lamport to leave. It is false that my son left against medical advice. He was cleared to leave by the doctor. It is only his case manager, who is not a physician, who wanted him to stay. [redacted]e further told me that my son signed paperwork on his admission that he agreed to the increased price. None of the paperwork I have seen reflects this. In addition, my son had no capacity to enter a contract, as he was under the influence when he was admitted. Therefore, if there is any such agreement, it is not enforceable. They have made misrepresentations and have an unenforceable contract upon which they are refusing to refund the $900.Desired Settlement: $900 refund.
