To Whom It May Concern:I am writing today in response to complaint ID# *** (*** ***)Thepatient was seen in our Sequim office on 5//for an item that was deemed non-covered byboth insurance carriersAt that time, we provided her with a waiver of possible denial to signstating she
understood it to be probable that she would receive a bill from us for those servicesafter both insurance carriers had processed her claimEvery device that we provide has list(Usual and Customary) price and then a contractual price based on the contract we have inplace with the carrierIn this instance, the UC cost of this patient's device was $at timeof serviceHowever, the contractual price for the insurance came to $We had thepatient sign a service estimate showing the contractual price at that time. After services were rendered, we submitted the claim to her primary insurance on 6/16/15.Once the claim was processed with that carrier, it was forwarded on to her secondary. However, we continued to have issues with secondary processing the claimIt is not often, butoccasionally we run into road blocks with insurance companies and claims can take upwardsof year or more to processThis was the case in this instanceOnce the claim processedover to patient responsibility, we then submitted a statement to the patientUnfortunately, therewas an error on our end and our posting department forgot to make the adjustment betweenthe UC and the contractual cost prior to sending said statementThis was simply human error. We would like to maintain a good relationship with our patient and have every intent ofreaching out to her to resolve this issue.Thank you for taking the time to bring this matter to our attention and allowing us theopportunity to resolve this issue

Complaint: ***I am rejecting this response because:
When I took my RX into Cornerstone Prothetics to obtain shoe orthotics I paid $and received a receipt for that amount and it showed a balance due of zero.? Therefore I feel I paid for the orthosis in full and do not owe any money.? This money was paid almost two years ago and now I am being billed for an extra $92.68? It is well known in the Prosthetic and Orthotic field that Medicare does not pay for these items and therefore the supplemental Insurance does not pay either.? I have purchased these items from other vendors and have never heard of the type of procedure Cornerstone Peosthetiics has for billing Medicare .? I have always paid the amount the Company requested and that was the end of the deal.Sincerely,*** ***
