Cornerstone Tax Resolution Reviews (1)

June 9, 2014 my husband and I spoke with said "[redacted]" regarding assistance with handling our income tax matters. We were told how we would be assisted and the flat fee cost. We were emailed a Client Information Form, Client Service Agreement, Payment Schedule & Debt Authorization, Tax Information Authorization (Form 8821) and two Declaration of Representative (Forms 2848) which we were to complete only as indicated and return by the following morning 6/10/14. After receiving the documents, I noticed that fields which I thought were important to be completed before signing were left blank on Forms 8821 and 2848. Those fields did not contain the name and other necessary information of the appointee and representative we were to appoint.
The following morning I spoke with Mr. "[redacted]" regarding the missing information. His initial response was that we did not need to be concerned with any fields but those indicated for us to complete and that we could put "Mickey Mouse", it really didn't matter. I explained that as we are giving power of attorney and appointing a representative over our personal information, it does matter if the fields are completed "Before" we sign. He gave me some information over the phone to write in.
At this point I was very uneasy regarding giving them any authorization and our bank account information. I contacted our attorney and faxed them the information to review before we would sign. After the attorney's review, I was advised that for several reasons it would not be in our best interest to sign the paperwork or use the company's service. On June 12, 2014, I responded by email that after full consideration, we would not use their service. To my surprise, we received a very disturbing, threatening, response. We were told that the company would directly turn our case notes over to one of the IRS revenue officers with whom they work, along with the updated address and employment information they managed to collect. This is very vindictive and unprofessional.
My research indicates that this company has 1 principal on record, [redacted], from Ponte Vedra FL. The information I received when dealing with them was from [redacted] and [redacted]. In my correspondence, it appears that one person responded under both names.
