Corning Federal Credit Union Reviews (4)

Thank you for your additional correspondence dated May 8, in which you forwarded Corning Credit Union(CCU) another inquiry made by Mr*** ***.Mr*** returned my phone calls on Monday May 8, after sending this additional inquiry to you, so I wasable to obtain some details from him regarding his concerns which were not clear prior to that phone callItappears that some of the information being reflected on 1-of his credit reports had gotten mixed up in theprocess of CCU responding to several disputes Mr*** sent through the credit bureausI did apologize that thisoccurred, and also that the credit bureau dispute process had not resolved his concernsCCU took action on May9, to make the adjustments to our reporting, and ensure this was straightened out for Mr***.Going forward, I did ask that Mr*** give the credit reporting agencies time to process the adjustments wesubmitted before pulling his credit reports againI recommended that he wait business days to allow for allchanged to be reflectedIn addition, I recommended that he look at his credit reports in the beginning of June, and reach out to me immediately if anything appears unusual with relation to the debt he settled with CCUInaddition, I will follow up from my end in business days to ensure things are reported as expected.Thank you for your assistance in this matterShould you have any questions, please call me directly at *** ***

Despite CCU suggesting they have handled this in a timely manor the fact is my payment to them cleared my checking account Feb 24th Yet they continue to report the balance to equifax as which is even higher than before I paid the $ attached is a dispute I initiated after CCU's reply saying they had handled the matter and their records have been updated The attached file clearly shows that CCU continues to report the balance inaccurately This despite my complaint to the PA Attorney Generals Office and to the Revdex.com So I can only take from that they are intentionally not reflecting my payment of $correctly The Attached report of May 5th specifically says equifax checked with the creditor (CCU) and they are reporting the balance of So equifax cannot lower the balance due correctly

Revdex.com:I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below
[To assist us in bringing this matter to a close, we would like to know your view on the matter.]To this date of agencies have updated their records We will see how long it takes equifax to update their records, I have once again disputed the balance with equifax to at minimum show the payment of $ I am sure CCU will once again dispute that Funny that CCU thinks waiting or weeks for a resolution is "getting anxious" Not only didn't they update the credit reporting agencies with the payment they actually showed an increase in the balance to the account twice after receiving the payment How can the balance go up when the account was settled There was also no reason for CCU to not allow my disputes with the credit reporting agencies to go through That would have updated the records immediately and not have to wait for CCU to get off their buttsEvery other lender I had similar arrangements with handled the payments and report to credit agencies within a couple of weeks not months and they sure as hell didn't keep increasing the balance due during that time I will consider this matter resolved once CCU reports to ALL credit agencies including equifax the payment and settlement and not until then

Thank you for your correspondence dated April 25, 2017 in which you forwarded Corning Credit Union (CCU) aninquiry made by Mr. [redacted].I did complete an impartial review of the situation, including:• Reaching out to Mr. [redacted] about his questions directly• Reviewing CCU's files regarding the...

situation• Interviewing the appropriate CCU employeesAs Manager of Internal Audit, I am the members' representative for CCU, thus upon rece1vtng ourcorrespondence, I made an attempt at resolving the issue with Mr. [redacted] directly. He also sent the same inquirythrough the PA Attorney General's Office, so I had already reached out to him and left two voice messages(4/21/17 10:49am, 5/1/17 3:08pm) at the number he provided and he did not return either phone call. Uponlooking into the situation, it appears the following occurred:• Mr. [redacted] failed to pay on a loan he had taken from CCU, and as a result CCU was forced to charge off theloan in 2012.• In February, 2017 he reached an agreement through our attorney to settle the debt with us for $4,000,which is less than the total amount he owes CCU.• Upon making the settlement payment to our attorney, Mr. [redacted] became anxious for the debt to beupdated on his credit report, thus phoning CCU multiple times asking about why we had not updated hiscredit report yet. We explained that we had not yet received payment from our attorney but as soon aswe did we would update our records, then the credit agencies would receive the updated information.• During a phone call on April 10, 2017, a representative from CCU explained to Mr. [redacted] that we hadfinally received the $4,000 payment from our attorney and had processed it on April 5, 2017, and at theend of April it would report to the credit agencies as "settled" but it would not show a "zero balance". Heasked if we would send a letter confirming it would show "the balance as zero and settled" and CCUexplained that we cannot say that it is "zero, but we can say it was settled."• I ensured that as of the date of this letter, the accurate updated information is now showing in oursystem, and has been reported to the credit reporting agencies. When the credit bureaus update theirrecords, the debt will show as "Account Paid in full for less than full balance" due to reaching thesettlement, and payment of less than the balance due to CCU.In conclusion, I did not find evidence that Corning Credit Union acted negligently, criminally, or outside of theapplicable laws or regulations. Mr. [redacted]'s information was updated accurately and in a timely manner. At thispoint, given the amount of time that has passed since I reached out, it is my belief that I will not be receiving areturn call from Mr. [redacted] in order to assist him in understanding the process. As a result, CCU is considering thismatter closed.Thank you for your assistance in this matter. Should you have any questions, please call me directly at [redacted]Very Sincerely Yours,Jessica [redacted] CPAManager of Internal AuditCorning Credit Union
