I went to get my vehicle smogged and the technician right away popped up the hood of my vehicle and did a visual inspection After his visual inspection, he proceeded to smog my vehicle and informed me that it did not pass due to my KNN Air Intake System on my truck not having the appropriate State approved sticker on it I was charged the $dollars despite the fact that the technician did a visual inspection and saw right away that my vehicle did not have the state approved sticker When I asked him why he didn't just tell me right away when he first opened the hood and noticed the lack of the state approved sticker, the technician's response was to throw my vehicle keys under the counter and state, "Sir that is the way it is, you have to pay and then I will give you your keys I feel I was ripped off and would not recommend that anybody take their vehicle to be smogged at this business, honesty and integrity is what Revdex.com Businesses stand for, which I feel this business is hiding behind, as they have a Revdex.com sticker posted at their business, but lack in honesty and integrity!

failed on smog for "Aftermarket part" which clearly is stated in the CA state guidelines as an expemptionIt is a factory replacement hose kit
August 1st 2016, took my truck for smog check before registeringFord F-SuperDuty diesel pickup truck failed smog due to a factory replacement hose kitI informed the tech this is NOT a performance upgrade, does not alter emmissions, and is simply a hose kit replacing the factory PLASTIC air hose with an aluminum hose of identical specsI was told this is a reason to fail the vehicle despite offering the vehicle smog guidelines from www.bar.gov appendix G stating a replacement part (even if made from an alternate material) does not require an expemption as long as it does NOT alter performance or emmissions, which this does NOT

On August 1, 2010 customer [redacted] brought in a 2006 Ford F-250 Super Duty Diesel (Vin #1FTSW21P76EC41029, License # 8F[redacted]) for a smog inspection. I wrote out invoice # 11700 and had the customer fill out the necessary information. I had then proceeded to perform the inspection. After...

completing the test, I had informed the customer that the vehicle did not pass the visual portion of the inspection due to after market parts that were installed in the vehicle. I explained that the state of California has laws that I have to strictly follow upon testing vehicles for emissions related components. His response was "It's only a Pipe" and "It's better that the original part". The 2006 Ford F-250 had 2 Intercooler Pipes with aftermarket MR.BOB's Silicone boots and fittings. I believe it was a kit that needs an Executive Order Number from CARB. Which is a label that lets me as a technician know if the part is legal for the State of California upon inspection. I explained to the customer that if he feels that I had performed the inspection improperly that he could contact the BAR Referee and handed him a Smog Questions pamphlet with all the information he may need to proove his claim. I specifically remember explaining that if I was wrong in any way and he has poof from the BAR Referee of that, then I would either do a free re-test or refund his money. He said OK, payed his test fee of $49.95 on his debit card. I did not charge the State certificate as promised on the invoice [redacted] signed.
I received a phone call aprox. 1 hr later with a gentleman reciting the After-Market Parts section of the smog check manual. I asked who was speaking but got no reply, He kept repeating the Appendix G portion of the smog check manual. I realized it was [redacted]. I then told him that if he had any questions to direct them to the BAR Referee and that I could not furthur assist him. Approximatley one hour later, [redacted] comes into Corona Express Smog I greet him with "How can I help you". He then demands a refund for the test that was performed earlier in the day. Stating that I didn't know what I was doing and should have passed his car. Again, I hand him a Smog Questions pamphlet in which he refused it and told him that I do not have the authority to refund his money and that he needs to go through the necessary steps because, I feel that I did the correct inspection and if I am wrong that there is a process to correcting the matter. At that moment [redacted] tells me F# YOU in front of two groups of customers waiting for a smog on their vehicles and became irate with me using much foul language so I asked him to leave. In which he did leave.
Approximatley 30 minutes later I get a call from [redacted] cussing at the top of his lungs with many demands of personal informatino of the Owner of the shop (cell phone #'s, E-mails). I did not give out this personal information in fear of this person doing harm, so he continued to swear at me. I ended this one call. And 2 seconds later [redacted] calls Corona Express Smog calling me a "little [redacted]" and a "little [redacted]". I ended that call immediatly. Again, 2 seconds later he calls again cussing. I remember telling him that this is the WRONG way to go about this, yet he continued to bash me with explicit words so I continued to disconnect the call. This went on for about 20 minutes. I believe he called 7 times. Finally, the calls ended. I remember two things that caught my attention when he kept calling. One was that "I'm the customer and I can say and do whatever I want" and kept repeating "Your going to be sorry I'm going to call the Revdex.com(Revdex.com)". I told him to instead call the BAR referee but he would not listen. This is the reason I am explaining my side of what happened on the day in question. I am happy to share this with you because I feel I am in no way at guilty or at fault and there is no need for a refund of this test. (Business Response.pdf)
