Corona's Auto Parts Reviews (2)

Review: They were doing construction on my street on Friday so I had to park both of my cars on [redacted]. One of my cars got towed to Corona's Auto Parts [redacted]. We called to find out about the car and even though the car is registered to my brother in law she told me everything. She first talked to my fiance and she told him off about the price and just had a nasty way of speaking so I got on the phone and she proceeded to tell me that she would npt purchase my car instead of me coming to pick it up and it is a honda accord a car that is desired for parts. she said "I want my money" . We called 2 other place that were willing to do it but wanted to wait until moday because they were short handed due to the paving the roads and towing everyone. She was mean and nasty and made us wait until monday to pick up the car and charged us $200 to hold a 94 honda accord.Desired Settlement: refund

[redacted] Police Tow # [redacted]

This vehicle was towed by the [redacted] Police. We are 1 out of 11 sub-contractors that does towing for the [redacted] Police Department on a rotational basis. This is a contract that is very strict with no way to bend rules. This means a [redacted] Police officer went to this street location and ordered for this car to be towed, we don't ask reasons, we just get dispatched to remove the vehicle. Reasons for the tow and/or parking tickets can be answered by the Police Department.

The contract cleary states only the owner of the vehicle can retrieve a towed in vehicle. This is also a statewide towing practice which states only the owner of a vehicle can retrieve it from impound.

This vehicle is still at our facility in our secured impound lot. The owner has not been able to come in to pay for the towing and storage charges, and thus we have not been able to release it.

Miss [redacted] has been upset with us becuase we haven't released the vehicle to her. We gave her the rates and procedures, but regardless she has to have the owner show up. She has stated something about her brother -in - law being the the possible owner, if that is the case only he can retrieve it.

This vehicle will sit here until an owner shows up with proof of ownership.

Our hours are Monday-Friday 8am to 5pm.

Review: To whom it may concern:

My name is [redacted].

On 9/5/13, I purchased a used motor & regulator for my driver's side car door. Corona 's sold me the set for $132.94 and said they could install it for $90.40/hour, and it wouldn't take more than one hour. [redacted] (mechanic) said he would also warranty the labor for 30 days, and signed the labor charge invoice. Corona 's policy is to warrant parts for 30 days; the warranty being a replacement part.

On 9/6/13, I returned for the installation. I also asked for the part that they removed from my car, and put it in the trunk of my car. After I was told that repairs were completed, and before I left the parking lot, I checked the window, only to discover that it still didn’t work properly. I immediately went back to [redacted], who said he was too busy on another phone call to check on the window. Instead, he sent another mechanic (hereinafter referred to as “Mechanic #2”) to examine the window. Once Mechanic #2 confirmed the window wasn't working properly, he told me to call [redacted] the next day. When I contacted [redacted], he told me to wait a few days and if the situation didn’t change, bring the car back to Corona ’s so he could fix the window.

I waited until it was convenient for me to return (9/30/13) and brought my car to Corona ’s to be fixed. After examining the window, Mechanic #2 said the part didn’t work, and they were looking for a replacement part. Seconds after him telling me this, the receptionist said they were going to give me a refund for the defective part and reinstall the part that I had in my trunk. I protested that I wanted the car fixed per the warranties (replacement part + labor). They said they simply didn’t have the part. They didn’t even try to order the part.

On 10/1/13, I called Corona ’s asking for a refund of the labor charges since [redacted] signed a 30-day warranty for his work. When they refused to honor the warranty, I asked to speak with Mr. [redacted]. They would not allow me to speak with him, claiming he doesn’t handle complaints.

I expected Corona ’s to live up to the warranties that they gave me. Although they refunded the part, they didn’t refund the labor; nor did they fix my car. I am still unable to use my car window and will need to buy another part from elsewhere, in addition to paying labor charges for installation.Desired Settlement: I want a full refund of labor charges.

We thank you [redacted] for a good description and timeline of incidents regarding this issue.

It appears that the installed part was defective, which, unfortunately with used parts does sometimes happen. The use of used parts is helpful for customers to keep cost down but sometimes risky as parts may not be 100% as when they were new.

At Corona's Auto Parts our policy is labor is warrantied but not refundable. Our employees never work for free. (which is against state labor laws).

According to our mechanics, customer [redacted] did not want to wait for another part to be ordered, which could have taken a day or a week depending on the availability of such part.

We did provide a full refund for the purchase of the part.

We apologize for the part not working and hope a correct working part can be located.

Review: [redacted]

Ms. [redacted], this message is my rebuttal to Corona's response. As stated in my original complaint (see below), when I returned to have the window fixed on 9/30/13, the mechanic said they didn't have that part in stock. They made no effort to order a replacement motor/regulator but instead, immediately volunteered a refund of the part without me asking for it. (Corona's parts policy states that they don't refund payment for parts; they only warranty them.) Unhappy that I wasn't getting my car fixed, I asked why they couldn't just order the part from some other location. They only said, "We can't do that." Instead of ordering the part, they allegedly replaced the bad part with the part I brought in for replacement on 9/6/13. What would they have done if I had not kept my old part?

The fact remains that Coronas did not provide a replacement part per their warranty: they didn't warranty the labor either. How can they justify this labor charge without fixing my window? In addition to the financial inconvenience of the unfixed window, I was made to expend extra time and money making the trip back to Coronas for the repair work, because they refused to address the issue on 9/6/13. They refused to address the issue again on 9/30/13

Simply put, Corona's did not honor the labor or part warranty. It makes no sense for them to say I didn't want my car fixed; I wouldn't just give them money for labor and walk away without having my car fixed. In fact, nobody in their right mind would do this.

Sincerely,

Attached is our "Terms of Sale" board for all our customers to see at our front customer service area location.

As this event happened weeks ago and our mechanics can vaguely remember what they fixed 1 week ago, they tried to remedy the problem once and were unable to come to a compromise. Used parts for a vehicle are more economical to fix a problem, but sometimes create more problems and can have rust, corrision, and other issues.

We hope the customer was able to fix this problem, whether it be with a new or another used part?
