Corpath, Ltd.

First of all this complaint is linked to Corpath, Ltd. and Corpath is a separate company that is in no way affiliated with [redacted] Pathology Associates.  This needs to be removed from Corpath and placed in the correct file.

17th.  I did indeed have a call with the client and mentioned that I would look at the account and ask about it if need be.   [redacted] Pathology is billing the patient for clinical lab charges from Hillcrest Medical Center that BC/BS of Texas denied as patient responsibility.  In reviewing the claim all cpt codes and ICD9 coding is correct.  There is nothing invalid or coded in error on the claim.  There are no changes that can be made to the procedure codes or the diagnosis codes to correct any error in billing.  We have seen a higher volume of denials from BC/BS Texas on our clinical lab charges and we are investigating this with the payer.  I do not know if they have changed edits in their system or if denials are being made in error but we are working on this issue.  I do agree with the patient that the number of calls and attempts to correct the issue without resolution is unacceptable.  I spoke with [redacted] this morning and he is adjusting the patient balance to zero.  Please contact me directly if you have any further questions or concerns.
