employment with the companyMs*** authorized the background check as part of the on-boarding process. As is noted in her complaint, we previously completed a background report on Ms*** for a different client at the end of last year. On the background report completed in Ms*** identified an error and disputed the information in the report as is her right under the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA). The information was corrected as required by the FCRAThe report in included public record searches under the name, Joann ***.For the background report completed in October we do not and cannot use information from a previous background report when completing a new report. The FCRA requires information in a report to be accurate and up-to-date and this requires searches to be completed at the time the report is being compiled. Also, there is not a standard background report and different employers require different criteria in their backgrounds. As part of the background screening process a social-security-number trace is completed. The trace provides Names and Addresses associated with the SSN. This information is not provided by the Social Security Administration but it comes from a third-party database provider. The information is used to determine where public record searches may be conducted on a given individual. Any records found in a public record search would require additional matching identifiers before inclusion in a reportThe trace completed on the SSN provided by Ms*** included additional last names and our client requested these names be searched in addition to the supplied name. No public record information was found associated to these names and the identifying information for Ms***After we received notice from the Revdex.com, I was able to speak to Ms*** and she stated that she never used the additional names. I contacted the company that provided the information and they had the additional names removed from her profile. Consequently, we removed the additional names from her report. Ms*** will receive a copy of her report within the next few days.After speaking with Ms***, I believe this resolution satisfied her concerns.
