Cortland Habitats

Review: My daughter rented an apartment with three others, while attending SUNY Cortland for the school year 2012-2013, at 8 Monroe Heights, Cortland, NY. Everyone was required to provide a $350 security deposit, to be refunded at the end of the school year. The rent was required to be paid up front, in two installments, once before the fall semester and once prior to the spring semester. At the end of the year, when we returned the keys, we were told by the owner's representative, [redacted], that the security deposit would be given back in two to three weeks. I e-mailed the owner [redacted] at [redacted] on July *, 2013, requesting my security deposit. He stated that they had "started mailing back securities" and "its a matter of time, maybe 1-2 weeks to receive yours." I e-mailed him 7/**, 7/**, and 8/*, again requesting the return of our security deposit and have not received a response. I also tried calling the Cortland number, with no response. My daughter's roommates have not received their security deposits eitherDesired Settlement: I would like a full refund of my $350 security deposit, as well as the other roommates.
