Corvette Conspiracy Broadway Ave Cleveland Ohio 44127 May 30, 2016 Revdex.com Euclid Ave 4th Fl Cleveland Ohio 4115-2405 Fax: 861-6365 Re: ID *** Attention *** *** Dispute Resolution Team Leader I have enclosed copies
of both repair orders for your reviewThe car came in mileage and did not start or runThe first thing I did was a compression and cylinder leakage test to evaluate how sound the motor wasThe test results are listed on the back of RO compression is 160psi -165psi cylinder on the test was significantly lower than averageThe average of the cylinders on this motor were about psi but cylinder indicated a definite problem at 115psiCylinder leakage tests indicate the worn or weak piston rings, Cylinder @ 8% leakage and cylinder at 15% leakage are considerably higher than 2-3psi on a good sound motorThis would also indicate a motor that would burn more oilAfter completing these test l discussed the findings with Mr*** and I advised hire I thought if he planned to keep the car he should consider replacing the motorI recommended replacing rather than repair as a cost effective plan. In July , I did the stated repairs on the RU and he drove miles, The repairs that I preformed are not in disputeThe first miles were city driving there really wasn't a load on the engine. In May 2015, months later and miles he came in to have me check plugs which appeared ok at the timeI worked on the headlights, replaced mufflers with stainless steel and checked the alignmentWe did check over the car as he requested visually there were no obvious problemsHe did n4.)t request or pay for an oil change or pay for an oil changeHe states he drove to Detroit on the interstate at high speedsThe car is equipped with an oil pressure gage and temperature gageIf the car ran low on oil the pressure gauge would have indicated a drop in pressure and the temperature gauge would have indicated an increased temperature, He had the information that his engine needed replaced back in July of 2014, when a motor is worn it uses more oil than a good motorChecking oil levels is common sense after an extended highway runThis car was purchased used and Mr1-lilal has no records of past maintenance nor do IIt is impossible to predict how long a won motor would lastIt is obvious from al] that needed replaced this car had not been maintained nor was it in good conditionThe best thing over all is the solid frame it sits on. Our technician checked levels before the car Left as a courtesy there was no chargeIt is standard for our techs to check the oil level on all cars thatcome in because so often owners do notWe have no knowledge of how the ear was driven after it loft our shop or if levels were checked after his mile drive. In closing l would like to bring your attention to our outstanding record with the Revdex.com for the past years.Sincerely John F D***

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
The information that Mr. D[redacted] has provided does not resolve my complaint in the slightest, nor does it address the glaring issue at hand regarding his and his staff's clear case of negligence and violation of trust.First and foremost, it is irresponsible for someone of his background to quote technical knowledge that he expects others without his background to understand. The implications of the provided information were not relayed to me properly as a customer. On the contrary, I was told at the time of the initial visit to Corvette Conspiracy that the vehicle could withstand all forms of traditional travel (city and highway). I was instructed that there was no need to perform any major repairs or replacement of parts for the foreseeable future. Any replacement of the engine would be a judgement call based on raising the value of the vehicle overall, not one made on grounds of safety or integrity of the engine itself.Additionally, it is illogical that the vehicle would be able to function normally without error for 1000 miles one year, then be met with catastrophic failure, after being checked once again my Mr. D[redacted] and his staff, within 200 miles. Once again, I was informed at the time of the second visit (2015) that the vehicle would function well during all forms of traditional travel, including interstate travel. Finally, since Mr. D[redacted] is very keen on the subject of common sense, I'll reiterate that it is common sense for any mechanic or car expert running an honest business to check the oil levels of any vehicle to visit his shop, regardless of specific request. I was not informed of any issues regarding oil levels, or even recommended to have my oil changed at the time of my visit. This, first and foremost, is a breach of trust, as it is common sense for that to be the first piece of information relayed to a customer after a vehicle has been checked. Additionally, Mr. D[redacted] has not addressed the fact that after the catastrophic failure, another Corvette specialist inspected the engine and oil pan and relayed to me the most horrific information a car owner could possibly hear: there was ZERO oil left in the engine. Based on the circumstances, this is not only illogical, but completely inexcusable. I am still of the belief that Mr. D[redacted] and his staff were NEGLIGENT in their handling of my vehicle and are responsible for the result.
Regards,
[redacted]
