Cos' Central Auto Reviews (19)

No one LIED. The repair was made. The first thing the customer did when they came to pick up the vehicle was try the heat. It was working. Obviously some thing broke and Cos' Central Auto was willing to fix the heating issue and ALL of the other issues the customer had. At NO cost, 100% for both Parts and Labor, 100% at our facility. Customer was unwilling to bring the vehicle back to Cos Central Auto for repair. Cos will not honor a** outside invoices.

Good morning,
black;">
[redacted] from Cos Central Auto following up on complaint id#[redacted]. Sorry for the delay in getting back to you. I needed time to get the issue with the warranty resolved before I responded back. We are very sorry for [redacted] and [redacted] [redacted] issues with the vehicles they have purchased from our dealership. We want all of our customers to be happy with their purchase.

First and foremost if they contacted us first for repairs I believe we would have been able to resolve everything before it got escalated to a Revdex.com complaint.

We have gone ahead and with the [redacted] approval refunded in full all cost of the warranty to them. We also covered the cost of all of the "covered" repairs on their vehicle. We also covered  $500 in repairs recently that was not covered by the extended warranty company as well. We really do try to satisfy every customer.

If you should have any further questions feel free to contact me any time.

Sincerely,

I am rejecting this response because:
1.   COS Central LIED to my son that the heat had been repaired.  When after driving approximately 1 hour, my son called COS Central  to state the heat was not fixed and would not shut off.  The salesman stated, "The part to fix the problem was back ordered two weeks and the mechanic stated he thought he had fixed it by adjusting it.  This was not mentioned at the time we purchased the vehicle.  Again, COS Central knew this would be a labor intensive job to repair.
2.  After taking the vehicle to a certified mechanic, it was also determined that a left front wheel bearing needed to be replaced and an engine oil cooler hose was leaking oil and needed to be replaced.  Upon several calls to COS Central, they refused to pay for a** of the repairs by a mechanic in **, pay to have the vehicle towed to their mechanic (as it was unsafe to drive 3 hours), or a** compensation for the inconvenience.  The part that was "backordered" would need to be ordered (a several day delay), the vehicle would need to be left for a couple of days, causing us to make several trips to COS.
3.  Finally, our mechanic also determined the all-wheel drive had been disconnected under the battery box.
In addition, Chris, the manager, placed "white-out" on the contract changing the 100% coverage and wrote in 50%.  COS was not interested in discussing with our local mechanic the problems they were, no doubt, aware of.  COS states this was an inconvenience to us....but refused to discuss a reasonable agreement.
All repairs were completed by a certified facility in ** in the amount of $1,820.94 (invoices can be provided) as my son needed the vehicle to return to college.
The original heating problem that was brought to COS attention when my son test drove the vehicle in early December was not repaired, although they stated it was.  Why would we TRUST that the several other issues would be successfully repaired by their  mechanic??
Sincerely,

We took
the [redacted] to the dealer to find out what is happening to the car as
far as the AC is concerned, they put dye in the AC system like it should have
been from the beginning, no dye was ever put in from Cos
Central Auto according
to the documentation from the dealer. We should know what is going on with the
AC Tuesday August 4th , 2015. The dealer also found the transmission
cooler lines leaking and the serpentine belt no good (Cracked). The exhaust
system is still rattling, the dealer told us the converter shield must be
welded.
Is this how you recruit repeat
business stealing money from young girls? Telling them you will do something and you lie
about it, is that it? YOU CALL THIS TRUST?
As far as
the 24th, are you awake? We never made an appointment with you for
any date for repair, on top of it all you are lying about this too. I am asking
the Revdex.com to help us, we have NO confidence in this lying rip off place called Cos
Central Auto.

Cos Central Auto has offered to repair All repairs at No cost to the customer. All that Cos Central Auto asks is that the vehicle be brought back to us so that we can make the necessary repairs. It was discussed with the customer and it is in writing that "All work must be done in the retailer's...

shop. No outside invoice will be honored by the retailer". I realize that it is an inconvenience to the customer to bring the vehicle back but [redacted] was aware that if a** repairs were needed that those repairs would need to be done at our facility during the warranty period. Also under the terms of the warranty, the customer is responsible for 50% of the parts and labor for the repairs which render the vehicle mechanically operational. Cos Central Auto is not asking for a** money for the repairs and is not arguing about which parts should and shouldn't be covered under the warranty. Cos' is just asking that the vehicle be brought to us so that we can make the repairs.

I would like to inform mr. [redacted] that his statement about first  & foremost I should have contacted them first is untrue because it was cos cet auto that sent me elsewhere because they did not do that kind of repairs. I am very thankful for that because I would not have known I paid for a warranty that I did not receive.  first of all I have know knowledge of why mr [redacted] is involve with seeing me,, he is new to the company and I was very happy dealing with [redacted].
I was not aware of any bill for $500.00 recently for my car because cos cent auto told me it was all set which I assume it was cover by my warranty.  I asked for a copy of what was done and  did not receive it because that dept was closed and I was told by cos himself that they could not find a part so they had to fix my old part.  so I have a part that was broken on my car that they fix and put back on and that bothers me cause I receive no warranty on it and I hope they fixed it well. I do not go and pickup my car with the expectation of not having to pay.  most of the time I ask before I come so I can have enough money on me.
everytime  I deal with mr [redacted] he makes cos cent auto the victim but it really is me.  let me inform you mr [redacted] that  the engine light came on in the fisrt week with my car and my sons came on the first block he drove his car from the dealership and both times we call immediately.  my son was told from[redacted] that if the car ran okay don't worry about it.  well to fix the engine light problem it cost me 2385.26.  as far as my car goes I have owned it for 14  1/2 months and have had to have my car serviced 22 times costing me $3606.23 and not having use of my vehicle for days even a week a times. I had to have it tow to cos cent auto because it would not start when I was out of town.  I have a list of all the dates and what was done to the cars.  It was so annoying that cos himself gave me a written agreement saying I could get another car if I had anymore problems within 6 months and of coarse I did.  you offered me $3500.00 instead of another car.  so far I have spent $19095.99 on 2 used cars which are 2001 &2002. this [redacted] has cost both of us many headaches and much money.  I do appreciate what cos cent auto has done for me in this 15 months but I am also cover by warranty so when iam told its all set I assume it was covered by my warranty. so mr [redacted] when I bring my car into cos cent auto I would like to be treated with respect and dignity because I am the victim not cos cent auto and i have 10 months to go on my warranty and will be bringing it to cos cent auto.

My daughter [redacted] certainly does not feel comfortable going back to COS. I stated this before and
I will state it again, COS knew about these problems with the [redacted] because
we told them what was wrong (prior to buying the [redacted]) …..COS had three days to get to the root of the problem before
delivery. We want to get these problems fixed, but by someone qualified. COS
not only is incompetent, but also very unqualified to handle this job, and they
know it. You should be ashamed of yourself to mistreat a young girl in this
caliber. At this point a real
gentleman would just say “get it fixed and Ill pay for a reasonable price”. Why
wouldn’t you do this to close this chapter in both our lives? It’s obvious this
is not how you get repeat customers, so why not rectify this problem with an
alternate course of action? Let’s get this problem fixed by someone that’s
qualified, you pay for x amount of dollars and everyone wins. WE would leave
the tires alone and just work with the catalytic converter rattle, “getting it
welded”, the transmission cooler lines which was missed by you, and of course
the AC evaporator and o-rings, evacuate and recharge. So let’s recap and cut to
the chase, you pay for a reasonable charge for the proper repair done by a
professional dealer, and we rectify these letters and give you a better name
for your business. You know it’s the right thing do, and not to mention a TRUE
businessman and gentleman would handle this problem this way.

Cos Central Auto is sorry that the customer had any problems with the vehicle that we sold them. The customer never told us that they were having any issues. We certainly would have looked at the the vehicle for them even with the vehicle being sold "AS IS". Instead the customer went somewhere to have the vehicle looked at and then decided to try and make the repairs themselves, not by a mechanic. We were only contacted after their own repairs didn't work. Finally after being contacted by the customer, we told the customer that we would definitely look at the brakes for them (at no cost).  We diagnosed the vehicle (for free) and determined that the homemade repair was done incorrectly, the customer put the rear calipers on upside down. Which we fixed (again for free). Because the customer made the repair themselves it was impossible for us to see if there were any issues prior to the homemade repair.  The brake system was checked prior to the vehicle being sold and passed the safety inspection. Again the vehicle was sold "AS IS". Sorry but no refund will be given.

Cos Central Auto and [redacted] and [redacted] have come to a mutual agreement where all parties are equally satisfied and all issues will be put behind all of us.

Thanks, Cos Central Auto

Complaint[redacted]
WE most certainly told them about our issues with the brakes we hsve all our paperwork stating how much we spent and it was unnecessary money.  When we first told them we spoke to a guy name Jose we thought he was the owner because he acted like it
Je said this was a day or two after we purchased our vehicle that we noticed a problem he acted as if he didnt care.
He told us if we get the brakes done then too come back to him and he would replace the boot he never did as he said.
The owner called us and said to bring it in he was not very nice he said he couldnt believe we spent that much
He didnt even fix the brakes properly because as we speak we are still fixing things on them like the abs brakes
At this point it is very frustrating to have gone through this u necessary inconvenience and I am hoping to whom can do something about it such as a refund something to replace the money we spent.  I hope this doesn't happen to someone else

Cos Central Auto has made every effort to resolve the issues that Mrs. [redacted] had with the 2005 Toyota [redacted]. We are sorry that the repairs took so long but believe that the customer is pleased with the results.

Review: My name is Frank R S[redacted], my daughters name is [redacted] recently bought a 2009 [redacted] for over $14000.00 from Cos' Central Auto Address: [redacted] from Chris. Before the vehicle was purchased we complained about three problems found during a test drive, (catalytic converter rattle, tires low on tread, and the air conditioning was blowing warm air), we were told these problems would be repaired. [redacted] gave a deposit of $200.00 0n July 15th 2015 for a hold car payment. At that time we also told them then that the car has three problems and they must be fixed, I told Maurice that we don’t want a lemon. [redacted] went to pick up the vehicle July 17th 2015 drove it home to find out the AC is blowing warm air, the tires were not touched, and the rattle still exists. I called and spoke with Maurice on Monday July 20th to let him know about the problems. We drove it back to COS on Tuesday July 21st 2015 for them to look at the problems, (we live 1 hour away). When we got there at 10:30am I simulated the rattle, showed the service manager and Maurice the tires, and AC blowing warm air. I to am in the automotive business, I showed them the tires in the front are 4/32nds and is also showing positive toe wear, new they are 12/32nds, we were told that the tires MUST be less than ½ way worn and they would leave them alone. We agreed, The tires again are 2/3rds of the way worn, and the rears are 6/32nds, but on a all wheel drive vehicle you DO NOT JUST REPLACE 2 TIRES, you replace all four. So my wife and I went back there at 3:00pm on Tuesday July 21st 2015 to pick up the vehicle. They told us the ac evaporator was no good. Our three problems still exist. I asked Maurice to help us, he told me he cant do anything because Chris is on vacation, we still have the three original problems which should have been fixed BEFORE the vehicle was picked up for purchase in the first place. We lost confidence in COS because of all this running around. WE will take our vehicle to a [redacted] dealership where they know what they are doing. WE expect to get reimbursed for the work being done. I would like to lodge a formal complaint against them for shoddy work ethics. Please help us?? (We want the three problems fixed but not by them).Desired Settlement: Refund for work NOT DONE. we do not have confidence in COS Automotive, we will get work done at [redacted] dealership, and submit the bill to you.

Response:

Cos Central Auto is aware of the [redacted] complaints. We believed at the time the vehicle was picked up by the customer that all of the issues had been resolved.

Issue #1 - Air Conditioning: Cos Central Auto recharged the air conditioned along with placing a dye into the a/c system. The dye was put in so if there were any leaks/ seepage we would be able to detect if/were it was leaking from. We ran the vehicle with the air conditioner on for awhile. Cos Central Auto checked for and signs of leaks/ seepage which there were none at the time. We truly believed this was no longer an issue as the a/c was running cold and no leaks were found.

Issue #2 - Rattle Noise: There was a rattling noise under the vehicle. The heat shield was a little loose. Cos Central Auto tightened the heat shield. Road tested the vehicle and all rattling noises were no longer there. We also believed this issue was resolved.

Issue #3 - Tires: It was discussed with the customer that the tires had more than enough tread on both the front and rear and that Cos Central Auto would NOT be replacing any of the tires. This was agreed to by the customer. There was never any agreement to replace any tires. All tires are within legal limits.

The following day the customer called stating that the a/c wasn't working and that they still had a rattle, along with a complaint that the tires were not replaced (see #3). We advised the customer to come in and we would certainly take a look. They brought the vehicle in. The A/C was not working. There was a slight rattle that even the customer had a hard duplicating but there was a rattle.

The diagnosis was that the heat shield still had a slight vibration / rattle and the evaporator core needs to be replaced.

It was discussed with the customer that the a/c repair would take some time (roughly a 4 to 4 1/2 hour job to replace the evap core along with time to recharge the a/c) plus another check of the heat shield. It was also explained to the customer that the vehicle would not be fixed and completed the same day. Cos Central Auto offered to let the customer use another vehicle as a "loaner" until the repairs were made but the customer refused and stated they would bring the vehicle back on Friday 7/24 so the repairs could be made. Cos Central Auto agreed. Unfortunately the customer did not bring back the vehicle on Friday 7/24 and did not call to let us know, there was just a no show.

Cos Central Auto believes that it did everything within reason to help the customer resolve the issues they were having with the vehicle. We understand that it is frustrating to have any issues or problems when you purchase a vehicle but we are more than willing to fix these issues in a timely manner and certainly with no costs to the customer. The customer was just impatient and unwilling to allow us to make these necessary repairs.

Cos Central Auto will not pay for any work completed by any outside repair facilities. We are willing to make the repairs but the customer will need to make an appointment and drop off the vehicle for these repairs to be made.

Thank you, Cos Central Auto

Review: Purchased a used vehicle from above dealer for $8,500. Dealer stated the HVAC problem that was identified when test driving was repaired. When driving the 3 hours back to **, we determined the problem was not fixed. When discussing the fact the issue was not fixed with the dealer, he mentioned the part to repair was backordered 2 weeks and that the mechanic "thought" he had fixed the problem without the part. I brought the vehicle to a licensed mechanic in **. He determined that in addition to the HVAC heater blend door actuator, a left front hub bearing, and engine oil cooler hose needed to be replaced (total estimate $1600). When discussing an agreeable resolution with the dealer, we asked for 1) a refund of the vehicle, or 2) he pay the cost to have the vehicle repaired in ** as it was unsafe to drive to CT. He declined and said we needed to bring or tow the vehicle back at our expense.Desired Settlement: Have the dealer reimburse us for the repairs to the vehicle as required to have the car driveable and pass inspection. The vehicle was not driven after purchasing from CT, but brought to a licensed mechanic for repairs.

I have paid 6595.59 in repairs on both cars that are suppose to be under warranty. so far I have paid 19017.61 for both cars in a years time. I could of had a brand new car maybe 2 of them. this is the short and sweet version.Desired Settlement: I would like to have the last bill I paid for 2239.34 because car was suppose to have the warranty coverage. also would like to have loan rewritten without the warranty then my son could pay car off or have a new 2 yr warranty on his car and leave the loan as is. also would like cos to honor his signed deal with me on being able to replace my car in stead of offering me 3500.00. I paid 8046 out the door.
