Dear Sirs:
In reference to your letter dated 8/25/15, the following is my answer to referenced complaint.  I received a phone call from Mr. [redacted] asking for an estimate for waterproofing, sidewalk and driveway. An estimate was completed. I then received 3 phone calls from Mr. [redacted] for...

information before he decided to go with Celima Cement. My contract specifically states the cement is not guaranteed against cracking or spaulding.
There was no conversation that took place regarding waterproofing in the fall and driveway to be completed in the spring.
I started the job by setting up forms. The forms were set up the way Mr. [redacted] wanted them set up. Mrs. [redacted] came out of the house and expressed her dissatisfaction with the set up of the sidewalk. Mrs. [redacted] was quite nasty in her approach. We changed it and she was satisfied. There was no extra cost involved.
Before the concrete could be poured, the City of Parma Heights inspector came to inspect the setup of the job and it passed inspection. The only request the City had was a colvert pipe be put in the apron. I installed the colvert pipe and job was done according to city code.
When I was called regarding the cracking in the driveway in February, I went to the residence, took pictures and found the driveway was never back filled. As a result, the water from the back yard and the front yard went underneath the drive. Since the ditch had not been cleaned of debris on either side of the opening where the apron is located, the water had nowhere to run out from under the apron, which caused it to lift when it froze. The cement settled back down when it thawed in the spring. I offered Mr. [redacted], out of the kindness of my heart, if he would like me to re-caulk the cracks. He said no, I either want a new driveway or my money back. I told him there was no way.
I again, made two more trips to the [redacted] residence. I called [redacted], who ran a test and found nothing wrong with the concrete. [redacted] said it was a really bad winter.
I also called the City about the apron cracking and the colvert ditch that was never cleaned on either side. The City of Parma Heights said the homeowner is responsible for cleaning the ditch on their street and that the City cannot do the cleaning, because they are too busy.
My calls to the City of Parma Heights and [redacted] Comapny can be verified.
My contract states near the bottom, there is no guarantee against spaulding or cracking.
Except for the brief encounter regarding the front sidewalk set up, did I ever engage in any conversation with Mrs. [redacted]. All of my conversations were held with Mr. [redacted].
I take pride in my work. I have installed thousands of driveways, sidewalks, aprons, patios, garage bases and waterproofing, and at no time have I ever thought of my work as being "just a job". I have had very few complaints in my 54 years in business. I am well-respected in my community and surrounding areas.
Anyone from the Revdex.com is welcome to inspect the job that was done for Mr. & Mrs. [redacted].
I appreciate your time in this matter.
Sincerely,  [redacted] Cosimo Celima Cement
