Review: Regarding charges at the Cosmetic Dentistry Center, there is big difference between what my wife and I were told while we were there and what was subsequently billed. After getting a cleaning, my wife asked explicitly if there were any charge for an opinion from the dentist about whether braces might help her or not. She was assured there was no charge which seemed appropriate as the consultation lasted about one minute. However, a "pre-orthodontic treatment exam" - not covered by insurance - was billed at $200! That was in addition to the "comprehensive oral evaluation" that was billed at $190; $40 of which was not covered that evidently occurred before the cleaning which we were told was completely covered by insurance.In my case, the aggressive billing practices are even more egregious. I made it abundantly clear that I was only interested in getting a crown for a tooth whose filling I had lost. I was told the cost was $800 which I paid that day in full. I then received a statement that I owed an additional $530.Desired Settlement: I would like all outstanding charges against my wife and I dropped. The charges are:For my wife [redacted]...-$200 for the "pre-orthodontic treatment exam" -$40 (of the $190 billed/$150 covered) for the "comprehensive oral evaluation" For me [redacted]...-$40 (of the $190 billed/$150 covered) for the "comprehensive oral evaluation" -$490 of the $1050 billed/$800 covered) for [redacted]
