Repair shop replaced my tires, damaged the censor, replaced the censor but still has me doing the run around to program the censor they damaged, my car was fine before I had them replace my tires now my tire light stays on and I'm responsible to go have it programmed. Not only is this inconvenient but it is money out of my pocket.

On 3/25/2019, *** came into Cota’s Tire stating that we had broken her tire pressure sensor when we mounted three tires on 3/12/2019 . She stated that the tire sensor light had been off for three days and then it came on. I absolutely had no time to work on her car at that time, so I told her to come back on 3/27/2018 as I needed time to check out what was wrong with the sensor.
I Checked the sensors, only one was reading no air pressure. Took off the sensor and I saw that the sensor & rim were covered in some sort of sticky stuff. This is an indication that “fix a flat” was used. I called her & told her that the fix a flat that was put in her tire had ruined her sensor. She then said that Cota’s Tires have put in the fix a flat. We don’t use or sell fix a flat. Also, the condition of the sensor and the rim showed that the fix a flat was there before she came in, before we ever touched them. Also, if the light was off for three days, that indicated the sensor was working and then something happened to make it come on.
Because I wanted to take care of the customer and have no further complaints, I replaced the sensor as it was not an expensive item. I told her before I installed the new sensor that I was unable to program the sensor as we do not have the tools to do so. She understood that I could not program the sensor at this shop. It is also not our policy to drive the car to someplace to get it programed as that would involve charging for shop time.
WE have photos of the sensor showing that it was still intact and not broken. Our position is that we never broke the sensor, someone added fix flat and that caused a malfunction of the sensor
