Clock was not repaired after 4 attempts. Refund for repair cost has not been made.I took my Cuckoo Clock, model XXXXXXX, to Cote Timeworks in March or April of 2016. Cote was to Oh, oil, and regulate the clock. I picked up the clock on May 6, 2016 and was told the work had been done and the clock was in working order. When I arrived home I discovered the music was not playing on the half- hour as it should. I returned the clock three times and was told each time the clock was in working order. Either the music did not properly play or the pendulum would stop after a few minutes. The last time I picked up the clock was August 29, 2016. The clock now strikes continuously regardless of the hour. I have taken the clock to another watchmaker for repair. I paid Cote Timeworks $266.88 for the repair on May 6, 2016 on my Visa card and I am seeking a full refund.Desired SettlementI am seeking a refund in the amount of $266.88.Business Response It is very difficult to repair an antique clock to run perfectly. We offer a year warranty on all of our repairs. The customer can bring the clock in as many times as necessary for us to regulate the timing. He did bring the clock to us 4 different times. The clock ran perfectly in our shop. We could not fulfill his unreasonable demands. This customer then chose to take his clock to a different repairmen therefore nullifyng his warranty. We do not issue refunds for a job when the customers chooses to take his clock to another repairmen. We work very hard to satisfy all of our watch and clock repair customers.Consumer Response There are a number of inaccuracies in Cote Timeworks' response. It is not an "antique clock". It is a modern, German Cuckoo Clock. I did not return the clock to have the timing regulated as this can be easily done by the owner. I kept returning the clock because it had not been put in proper working order. Either the music did not play on the hour and half-hour as it was supposed to or the clock stopped running after a few minutes. The clock did not "run perfectly" in their shop. Each time I returned the clock a Cote's employee observed, with me present, the clock failing to function properly. After four(4) failed attempts it became clear that Cote Timeworks did not have the knowledge and/or skill necessary to effect a repair. I am therefore, again, requesting a refund.
