Coughlin Automotive of London Reviews (12)

On September 28, 2016 Mr. [redacted] did purchase an AS IS 2011 Dodge Ram 2500 with 80,00 miles from our dealership. Our Service did a safety inspection on the vehicle Aug. 16, 2016 and found no safety issues with the vehicle. We ask the customer to prove us with receipts for the very...

expensive issues, but at this time no have been provided. During the sales process Mr. [redacted] heard a noise coming from the clutch area. We explained to Mr. [redacted] that it has a really nice aftermarket clutch install. He didn't like the noise that it made, so on October 5, 2016 we replaced the Clutch Plate, Pressure Plate and Throw Out Bearing.Per customers request, spending over $1300 to install the  new clutch.  A few weeks later Mr. [redacted] ask if we could put the old clutch back in the vehicle because he like it better than the new one.As I mentioned earlier the vehicle was sold "as Is". We don't feel that anything is owed to Mr. [redacted] at this time.

The trailer was picked up on May 30th. It is now June 4 and I have not received my money back.

Client Did request her warranty be canceled, Which we requested and received the funds back on 10/03/16 from warranty company. This morning our office issued a check in the full amount of $1800 to her lender Park national bankthe $1800 will reduce her principle by the $1800 by the end of this week

I would like Coughlin Automotive to refund my bill related to the water pump replacement on my 2008 Toyota Sienna which totals $940.84 for parts and services. The pump was suspect after the cooling system had run dry, and my mechanic did not recommend using it.  I have contacted Dominic...

C[redacted] via E-mail relating this on Tuesday Nov. 29, but he has not returned my E-mail, or to the follow up voicemail that I had left for him on Wednesday Nov. 30.

Mr. [redacted] did bring his vehicle into our shop overheating with a coolant leak. We found the water pump leaking and replaced the pump to get the customer back on the road. We are not sure how long the customer drove vehicle overheating.A week later the customer took the vehicle to a repair facility due to a coolant smell. They found a bleeder valve open and  leaking coolantm profusly. I spoke with the repair facility in St Louis and he agreed with me that it would be impossible to drive from the dealership to St Louis, MO (approximately 400) with this valve open. The vehicle would have lost all of it's coolant in a matter of minutes.I offered the customer $350, which is half of the water pump repair as a goodwill gesture. Not to admit any wrong doing  Dominic C[redacted]

I just wanted to let you know that Ed R[redacted] did contact us from Coughlin Automotive and said that he will work with us to make it right. He asked us to send him the invoice for the parts and he will take care of the cost of the brakes/drums etc... So if we could put this complaint on hold to see if...

he is a man of his word. We don't want to delete this complaint until he does what he said he would do.

Sorry [redacted] was out of town until yesterday morning.. After speaking with my sales manager it is my understanding that we are repurchasing the trailer back from the customer.

I am rejecting this response because:My paperwork says 'Coughlin Automotive Group' at the top.Regards, [redacted]

It is very unfortunate that it sounds like you've had multiple bad experiences at multiple dealerships. We always appreciate feedback - both good and bad - as we are constantly working to improve our process. There are situations, however, that we are limited in how we can help. As you stated...

above, the vehicle you purchased was as-is. The risk associated with such a purchase falls on the purchaser. There are other vehicles available that are accordingly priced with coverage that involves significantly less risk to the purchaser. As was fully disclosed on the vehicle and clearly explained to the customer at the time of delivery, the vehicle purchased is "as-is." It was explained to the customer the reason we sell certain vehicles "as-is" is either we as a dealership are not willing to accept the risk of backing a warranty on the vehicle or we don't feel we will be able to recoup the investment of certain repairs on a vehicle in the purchase price of the vehicle. In this case, with the selling price of the vehicle being $5,995, any expense for repairs would be a large percentage of the selling price making it difficult to recoup. That is the reason the vehicle was priced the way it was and fully disclosed as "as-is."
With this being said, we offer certain vehicles "as-is" to those willing to invest in any possible maintenance themselves at no expense to the dealership. It is unfortunate that in this circumstance the customer - while knowing this up front - and explained again when calling in - would want to change the terms of the sale after the fact.

In looking at my papers for the trailer I never got a copy of the paper that I had signed and notarized. I was told that the final paperwork would be sent to me.Attached are pictures showing missing propane tank, missing fire extinguisher, divider that is not a stud wall, bubbling paint on both back...

doors, disfigured metal on the side of back doors, crooked couch and badly hung window covering.. A picture of the back of the trailer with the driver and a friend in the picture shortly after the trailer was delivered. It has been a over a week and I have yet to receive the keys to lock the trailer.Thank you,

More written documentation re: overcharged for horse trailer.

We have reimbursed the customer for the service bill involving the brake issue. Customer is to retract statement from Revdex.com and state issue is resolved.. call derek W[redacted] @ [redacted] for questions
