Coulee Region Glass Reviews (5)

I did have a conversation with Lisa Morgan about her motorhome and the rock chip in her windshield I did state that we will not pay for a new windshield and went on to explain why This statement still stands I will explain to you my reasons why we do not pay for a windshield that cracks while being repaired First and most importantly a windshield that has been hit by a rock is broken It is not structurally one piece of glass anymoreWhen you do a repair you inject a clear glue to hold the edges togetherThis process is done under pressure A windshield that has been hit by a rock can expand into a unrepairable crack at any timeThis mostly happens as the multiple layers of glass expand or contract due to the heat or cold of the day This vehicle had been sitting outside in the hot sun all day , not that uncommon When I arrived to do the repair I set up my repair kit, before I even started the repair, I went back to my van for a pen to write down the vehicle informationWhen I returned I noticed that a crack was running out of the rock chip This does not make me responsible for replacement costs just because I was there when it decided to crack further Like I stated to the customer on the phone , I tell every customer who comes in for a repair that there is a chance the glass can crack when repairing I don’t know how often this happens, but it can and does happenThe statement by her technician that it is “ extremely , extremely, extremely rare” does not mean that it can’t happen Almost all cracks in a windshield start out as a rock chip that grows Did I get a little defensive, yes I didBut only after she argued with me for over minutes and I had repeated myself over and over I don’t like the argument that because I was there, it’s my fault I hadn’t even started my repair yet I also don’t think my abilities as an installer or repair facility should be brought into question Just because she can’t find anything on the internet about me or my qualifications means nothing I have been doing glass for over yrs with many satisfied customers The statement that we do not stand behind our work, or guarantee our work is false What is true, is that we did not do any work to her motorhome I was just there at the time the chip advanced to a crack through no fault of mineBottom line, I will not be installing a new windshield for her Sincerely, [redacted] President Coulee Region Glass

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.[To assist us in bringing this matter to a close, we would like to know your view on the matter.]In our phone conversation, *** at Coulee Region Glass stated that he did, in fact, apply the suction to my windshield and that is when the windshield cracked. Interesting discrepancy in his story at this point. I also continue to question, and would encourage other customers to as well, what advancement in glass repair technology he has engaged in within the years he has been working in this field. His refusal to support and stand behind his own work, as well as advance his own knowledge in this field, speak volumes to consumers regarding his professional and personal practice. Education in customer-service skills are also clearly lacking. It is an unfortunate small-business practice. I do not wish to pursue this further - I have all the information I need regarding this business.

I did have a conversation with Lisa Morgan about her motorhome and the rock chip in her windshield.  I did state that we will not pay for a new windshield and went on to explain why.  This statement still stands.  I will explain to you my reasons why we do not pay for a windshield...

that cracks while being repaired.  First and most importantly a windshield that has been  hit by a rock is broken.  It is not structurally one piece of glass anymore. When you do a repair you inject a clear glue to hold the edges together. This process is done under pressure.  A windshield that has been hit by a rock can expand into a unrepairable crack at any time. This mostly happens as the multiple layers of glass expand or contract due to the heat or cold of the day.  This vehicle had been sitting outside in the hot sun all day , not that uncommon . When I arrived to do the repair I set up my repair kit, before I even started the repair,  I went back to my van for a pen to write down the vehicle information. When I returned I noticed that a crack was running out of the rock chip . This does not make me responsible for replacement costs just because I was there when it decided to crack further.  Like I stated to the customer on the phone , I tell every customer who comes in for a repair that there is a chance the glass can crack when repairing . I don’t know how often this happens, but it can and does happen. The statement by her technician that it is “ extremely , extremely, extremely rare”  does not mean that it can’t happen.   Almost all cracks in a windshield start out as a rock chip that grows.   Did I get a little defensive, yes I did. But only after she argued with me for over 20 minutes and I had repeated myself over and over.   I don’t like the argument that because I was there,  it’s my fault .  I hadn’t even started my repair yet.    I also don’t think my abilities as an installer or repair facility should be brought into question.   Just because she can’t find anything on the internet about me or my qualifications means nothing.  I have been doing glass for over 13 yrs.  with many satisfied customers .  The statement that we do not stand behind our work,  or guarantee our work is false.  What is true,  is that we did not do any work to her motorhome .  I was just there at the time the chip advanced to a crack through no fault of mine. Bottom line,  I will not be installing a new windshield for her. Sincerely, [redacted]PresidentCoulee Region Glass
