Counterfeit Check Schemes

I received several mailings saying I was a likely winner from Publishers Clearing House. I ignored them. Then I received a phone call saying it was urgent that I call them at the following number, [redacted]. I was curious , and I gave them a call and spoke to a man named Michael S[redacted]. He asked my name,address, etc. He said he would check on my request. He came back on the phone and informed me that I won $2,500,000. All I would have to do is send him a check for $29000. I told him I would call my lawyer and get back with him. I called him back and said my lawyer said to send me the check , and take the $2900 out of it. He said that's not how they work. Then I knew it was a SCAM. That is why I am reporting this, so others won't get taken.
