My wife and I were excited once we saved up for a while to finally purchase counter tops. I work out of town and wasn't there when my wife signed the contract but an immediate red flag went up when the company illegally has in the contract you cannot post reviews about them online.

Long story short. The installation went okay. We ordered a waterfall which should've been cut at a 45 degree angle. The owner told us that's not how it's done which was laughable. He very reluctantly after some arguing didn't make us pay for the square footage they wasted on that. The installers also made some mistakes but came back to make it right a couple of days later. In the end the installation team was polite and did make it right.

The problem came with the counter tops themselves. The finish was damaged by something in Thiago's shop or they were received that way. Either way they tried to hide the worst of by cutting the sink there. We called them immediately and they told us the quartz counter top cleaner we bought to clean our quartz counter tops did it. We had them come look at them several times telling us we didn't clean them correctly. Thiago came to our house insisted they were fine. I insisted they weren't and they eventually got their supplier to send us a new piece.

When he got the new piece he told my wife we had to pay for it to be cut and reinstalled. He was unbelievably rude to her on the phone and they never came to terms. I called him and after another very unprofessional rude conversation he agreed to replace the defective countertops for free. Before he cut the piece I came up to look at it. It was damaged and had imperfections as well so I refused it. He told me either be happy or be happy. This is what you're getting.

We had a different counter top professional come out and look at them. He said they had some kind of chemical damage in the finish and the streaking occurred when they were stood up on their side in the shop. You can see the lines that ran down. He suggested we just sign the paperwork saying we can't leave reviews and have them install the less defective piece they received for us.

I'm a person of principle and rather warn others of the experience we have. Thiago does not care about his customers. My phone calls were ignored. The way he speaks to his customers is unacceptable. How he spoke to my wife alone is something I will never forgive. He wanted nothing to do with making the situation right. I paid full price for defective countertops. Avoid this place at all costs.

His is such an amazing company with amazing people. I'm glad I decided to go with this company. My kitchen has never looked so good. I'm so thankful for Volusia Granite.
The cabinets has amazing prices, we got them in 01 week. The new countertops are amazing.

I have a very small kitchen and wanted to get new counter tops. I found Volusia Granite and Marble works and Mariah was very easy to deal with! She showed me a few different colors/types for my top. She gave me a quote pretty quickly. She was great with all my incessant questions. easy scheduled and installation. The whole process has ZERO delays and the guys were always perfectly on time! Pricing was also completely reasonable and I would use them again for future countertops.

Billing practices and installation of cabinets and granite countertops
We spent over 2 hours with*** reviewing the selection of granite, glass inserts and cabinets. The installation of a new window and glass inserts went well. We were quoted the wrong price for the glass inserts and were informed after the installation and*** stated he would only charge us half $200. He was aware of this prior to completing our order and we were not informed until after installation. If were aware of we could have made the decision to not order the rain glass due to the cost. Lessons learn, NEVER EVER order cabinets from a granite business that do not specialize in cabinet installation. The installation of our cabinets was a total nightmare. We are in the process of relocating and gave*** a Key to our home to allow his cabinet contractor to install our cabinets. The cabinets were installed and no molding was placed on the bottom to seal the gaps between the tile and cabinet. We discovered this when we came to Florida to oversee the installation of the granite. He offered to order the quarter round which would take two weeks to be received, we declined. After research, I discovered *** cabinets are made in China, we could have purchased for half the price we were charged. Lesson learn, DO NOT ORDER CABINETS from a business that specialize in Granite installation. I have ordered the quarter round and accessories needed for our cabinets online at half the price.

Final cost for installation of granite was $2120, for final billed I signed. My account was charge $2395. I text him to inquire for the overcharge he sent me a final billed noting other charges I did not previously authorized or was aware of $275 charge. This caused my account to be over drafted.

I posted an online review of our experience with his company on 10/22/2018. *** contacted my husband on Tuesday morning requesting I remove my post due to the provisions of the contract notes, we can not post any negative comments on social media for after two years. He stated to my husband he can sue us for three times the contract fee. He then email a copy of the contract provisions. He is obvious not aware of the new laws.

Desired Outcome

I am requesting a refund of delivery fee $200 and assembly $180 for installation of cabinets. Cost of $275 for charging my account for granite accessories, $200 for cost of rain glass, total cost of $855. I made last minute reservations to travel from Tn to Florida for installation of Rain Glass and cabinets, to be totally disappointed, all accessories needed to install the cabinets were not ordered. Lessons learn, never order cabinets from a business that specialize in granite. We were overcharged for *** cabinets that could have been purchase online at half the cost we were charged.

We do appreciate the opportunity to present our paper work to resolve this case. We will need to break/separate it in few parts, just because they belong to different Invoice #'s
1)Consumer quote "... refund of delivery fee $200 and assembly $180 for installation of cabinets".
Ref: - INVOICE # *** - We never charge the FEES. (Unfortunately, we cannot refund what NEVER was charged).. Also, just for the record, all cabinets were delivered at the consumer property and all cabinets were assembled.
Attached is the Invoice # *** signed by the consumer.
2)Consumer quote "...Cost of $ 275 for charging my account for granite accessories...".
Ref: - INVOICE# *** - After template job, ALL additional square feet of granite countertop will be added on the final bill. (this NOTE is on the Invoice and the Contract). Also, Consumer's Husband sent text requesting 02 additional pieces. The Granite Bar top that was installed at the Consumer's house needed wood corbel for support, otherwise it would not stay up in place.

3)Consumer quote "...cost of rain glass..." ...
Ref: - EST #*** - the rough measuments (given by the client doing the first visit was 22"x44" = 6.72sf) - we base the price on the measuments. The Consumer and our company agree that it was a rough measuments and price and it will be adjusted after we can have it checked for the correct measuments.
Consumer agreed to it, signed by the Consumer.

The real glass sizes that were installed at the consumer's house were 66"x44" = 20.16 sf, - "It was over 03 times bigger". We only charged a small fee, instead of the actual price of the glass per square feet.
P.S. - Every moment of the job, the Consumer and I always had and have communication. Even in the moment the Consumer was unreasonable over the phone, we always kept polite and calm to keep the client happy

I have resent again. Noted below is my response and attachments, in case you did not received.

Thiago personally came to our home the week of 08/13/2018 and measured the space for the two rain, the bathroom window and area the cabinets would be installed. He was obviously aware the size we were quoted was incorrect prior to cutting and installing the glass. We were not informed until after installation the size difference and the cost. If we would have known prior to, we would have decided to cancel the order of one of rain glass. Requesting refund of $200 Bill #EST ***

Thiago obviously is not aware of the requirements to replace kitchen cabinets. He failed to order the required accessories to install the cabinets for completion the first time. We trusted Thiago and gave him a key to our home to allow his installer to come to install the cabinets after he ordered the additional accessories, due to we are in the process of relocating in December. We receive pictures of the cabinets and paid the balance, little did we know, quarter round moulding was not placed at the base of cabinets, leaving a gap between the cabinets and floor. (pic attached). His installer was aware of this, rather he informed Thiago we do not know. We paid in honest the balance for a shoddy job of cabinet installation we not aware of until October. He offered to order the quarter round , it would take two weeks to come in, we declined due to we lost trust as a customer. Requesting refund of $200 delivery fee, $180 for assembly due to the inconvenience of travel to Florida for work not completed as required. Bill #***

This was our second trip to Florida to oversee the installation of the granite and quartz counter tops. It did not go smoothly. His installers were to come on Monday morning, we receive a call, they would be there around 10:30am. One o'clock in the afternoon rolls around, after several phone calls to Volusia Granite we were informed their truck had broke down, they would reschedule for Tuesday. The final bill presented to me by his son was $2120. I was not advise of the overcharge until I text to inquire, total charge $3065 (screen shot attached). We were not advised wood Corbels would be installed to support the granite countertop. If were informed, WE WOULD have requested the JSI Corbels that match the cabinets be ordered to be installed instead.

Requesting refund of $275 for not being informed prior to charging my account for additional services, I was not aware of, until after I inquired. Billed I signed for final installation was #*** $725 and # *** $1395.
My husband did request two cut outs be done, not once did Thiago informed us there was an additional cost. It's obvious the cutouts are not from the same granite. Thiago stated the coloring is different due to the granite coloring is different throughout, what we received was much lighter.

To add insult to injury, Thaigo phone my husband to request I remove my negative post online due to the language noted in the contract, he could sue us 3 times the contract. I took this as a threat and I have taken the additional steps to file a complaint for the contract clause he felt compelled to inform my husband of.

After several mishaps with the installation of our kitchen cabinets and failure to communicate the additional cost, we lost all trust and confidence for services rendered by Volusia Granite and Glass Guru. We spent over $10,000 for Rain Glass, Kitchen Cabinets and Granite and Quartz Countertops with Volusia Granite and Glass Guru. The customer service, lack of communication, billing practices and overall deliverance of the finish product was a complete nightmare. Lessons learn, do your research for companies you do business with.

Thank you for taking the time to review my complaint. It's obvious Thiago G does not see any issues with the services rendered and billing issues for the contract signed with him. He quotes the contract, but not once has he address my complaint or offered a refund. Nor once has he placed himself in the customer shoes.

I am not sure if there is anything more the Revdex.com can do at this time. Please post my complaint on the Revdex.com website, so other consumers will know of our experience we encountered for services rendered by Volusia Granite and Glass Guru.

In closing Thiago G, I am glad to see you have my address in Tennesse. Let me give you the the correct name and address including the 4 digit zip. I have done my homework have you done yours?
