Our store holding policy is as follows: We do not hold vehicles unless the client has scheduled an appointment for a specific unit and has confirmed travel arrangements with usDue to the specialty of our product and its scarcity in the market place, over half of our transactions are with out of state clientsWe would not expect a client to drive a substantial distance without having complete confidence that the truck will be ready and availableThere is no deposit required for this commitment from usIt is also our practice that we provide a panel by panel walk around over the phone, additional pictures, video, and offer a proposal of the figures as well as trade in estimates prior to the client's arrival.I was personally involved in this client interaction When this client called us and said that she was traveling to our location she spoke with a member of the sales team who told her the truck was available The client informed us she was minutes away Unbeknownst to the salesman, we already had a client in route We promptly, within [redacted] minutes as documented on his cell phone, called the client back and explained to her that the prior evening close of business we confirmed for another client that the truck was available and we set a 10am following morning appointment As per our store policy and agreement committed to this customer the truck was being held for them while they drove here since they had a hour drive Under no circumstances would we have broken our agreement The customer at this point said she was only minutes away and was coming anyway We did allow this client to test drive the truck and look over the truck, with her knowing the other customer had first right of refusal before the test drive was offered She had a trade in and we made a proposal of figures to her, while the other client did their final inspection of the truck, so that she would have all of the facts in case the truck was still available and even offered her other trucks throughout our stores inventory She did not have any interest and told us our trade in figure was insulting and leftWe did complete the transaction with the other customer but there was no negotiating and making her wait as we worked out the best deal we could with the other customer, because the numbers were already worked out over the phone with the other customer prior to his arrival I had many conversions throughout the week with this customer This Ram was very clean and low mileage, so we do understand it was a difficult unit to duplicateWe do keep 4*pre-owned units in inventory and did offer to show her all of our selectionJeff W***Managing PartnerOffice ***-***-***Cell [redacted] Country Diesels [redacted]

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the offer and/or response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
I spoke to the dealer Friday morning and informed him I would like to see the vehicle either that evening or early Saturday morning. I was told the vehicle was available and to go ahead and come in. Saturday morning I left around 8:30 am to be at the dealer around 9:4*. My drive is also quite far at over an hour. Right at 9 AM, I called the dealer again to make sure the vehicle was still available to which the response was yes. About 20 minutes later the dealer called back and said they were holding the truck for someone else. When I asked if I should turn around, the response was that I could still come look at the truck but the other buyer had right of refusal. I asked if there was a deposit put down or if they hold trucks and I repeatedly was told that they DO NOT HOLD INVENTORY. With that, I assumed that they didn't hold vehicles for anyone. I proceeded to the dealer and arrived first on the lot and test drove the vehicle. During the test drive, the other buyer showed up and also drove the vehicle. The manager was not involved in any way other than to tell me I had to wait for the other buyer to make up his mind about the vehicle. I continued to be told that they didn't hold vehicles yet they were holding it for this individual even though I offered to pay full price. During this discussion, they valued my trade at $*k below Kelly Blue Book when I had just been offered full trade in value a week before from another dealer. This past weekend I was given another full value of the trade at exactly $*k more than they offered which resulted in my purchase of a new vehicle with no issue. This company's policy of not holding inventory is quite contradictory. When I arrived first and was made to wait around for someone else to make up their mind, that to me is considered holding inventory. They did not have any other vehicles on the lot that peaked my interest and with the insulting trade in offer, I chose to leave. My goal is to make it known that the way this dealer conducts business is not the norm and the policies should be changed.

state clients. We would not expect a client to drive a substantial distance without having complete confidence that the truck will be ready and available. There is no deposit required for this commitment from us. It is also our practice that we provide a panel by panel walk around over the phone, additional pictures, video, and offer a proposal of the figures as well as trade in estimates prior to the client's arrival.I was personally involved in this client interaction.  When this client called us and said that she was traveling to our location she spoke with a member of the sales team who told her the truck was available.  The client informed us she was 40 minutes away.  Unbeknownst to the salesman, we already had a client in route.  We promptly, within * minutes as documented on his cell phone, called the client back  and explained to her  that the prior evening close of business we confirmed for another client that the truck was available and we set a 10am following morning appointment.   As per our store policy and agreement committed to this customer the truck was being held for them while they drove here since they had a 2 hour drive.  Under no circumstances would we have broken our agreement.   The customer at this point said she was only 10 minutes away and was coming anyway.  We did allow this client to test drive the truck and look over the truck, with her knowing the other customer had first right of refusal before the test drive was offered.  She had a trade in and we made a proposal of figures to her, while the other client did their final inspection of the truck, so that she would have all of the facts in case the truck was still available and even offered her other trucks throughout our 6 stores inventory.  She did not have any interest and told us our trade in figure was insulting and left. We did complete the transaction with the other customer but there was no negotiating and making her wait as we worked out the best deal we could with the other customer, because the numbers were already worked out over the phone with the other customer prior to his arrival.  I had many conversions throughout the week with this customer.  This Ram was very clean and low mileage, so we do understand it was a difficult unit to duplicate. We do keep 4*0 pre-owned units in inventory and did offer to show  her all of our selection. Jeff W[redacted]Managing PartnerOffice [redacted]-[redacted]-[redacted]Cell [redacted]Country Diesels[redacted]
