Review: While traveling on I-95 in Virginia (08/16/15; 0130am) we decided to secure a hotel for the evening. Using our smartphones, we booked a hotel room(non refundable) through [redacted]. It suggested a nice hotel nearby in Ashland/Hanover. Arriving on location at about 2am (08/16/15) we were dismayed when the night manager (African American female) told us that our reservation wasn't until 3pm, however she said that she had no rooms available, even at that time. We called the booking site and allowed the manager to speak with the booking site's rep who claimed that the hotel must maintain 4 vacant rooms for travelers. Regardless we were turned away. When I returned from vacation, I found that Country Inns had charged my credit card for the room. I called the booking site and after 354 minutes on the phone, they said that the merchant had already been paid and it wasn't their problem. I called the hotel and spoke with the manager (she would only provide her name as "[redacted]"). She said that my booking was for 3pm and that the room had been reserved for us. She would not provide the name of the night manager who turned us away. She would not credit my account. I wrote to [redacted] hotels (parent company) and received an email reporting that they would look into the matter w/i 48 hours. A week later I received a survey asking if we were satisfied with the resolution. [redacted] has not returned my inquiries regarding a resolution. I contacted my credit card issuer (Citibank) and they said they would look into the matter also. After a month, I received a written resolution that they were supporting the merchant since Country Inns provided them with hotel policy of 3pm check in. I have since copied a screen shot of the actual booking from that morning which does not show a check in time, however it shows 4 rooms available. This has been sent to [redacted] Hotels in Minnesota, and Citibank in New York. So far, I've spent in excess of $50 making copies and mailings.Desired Settlement: I want the hotel to reverse the charge on my credit account and issue an apology for the shabby way that my family was treated. Country Inns in Ashland Virginia has been dishonest with the way that they have treated me and my family. My family and I slept at a rest stop, with my 2 year old grandson in tow, and the callousness of the involved parties is unforgivable. Regardless of how this turns out, I will do my level best to warn other travelers regarding [redacted] Hotels.

Review: Stayed there on 02-13-14 and parking lot never plowed or melt away pit down and was a danger to walk back and forth to hotel. TV had a bad picture and coffee maker broken.

Complaintes were made but nothing done, call made to the 1-800 # and was given #[redacted] and #[redacted] and was told I would get a response in 48 hours. No one ever called.Desired Settlement: Someone should of called and it is too late to plow but next snow they need to have a plow company in place.
