IN February or March of I received a business renewal statement and a fictitious business name renewal requestI filled them out and sent a check to the City of San Francisco and a $check to the Recorder to have my fictitious business name renewed, Come July of this year I was receiving notices that my fictious business name still required publishingI check my bank account and the $check was never cashed In july of I reached out to the Recorder and ALM several times and received a call back from someone at the recorder saying my check would be cashed momentarily and that I would receive a receipt about my public advertisement Come October or November I continued to receive the same notices that my fictitous business name still needed publicationAt that time my $check had still not been cashedAfter callling ALM they passed me off to someone at the RecorderThere was a recorded message that said "We are sorry but as of (October ? not sure exact date) t
On June **, 2016 I placed an ad with the Recorder on behalf of Murray Clement who was changing his name to [redacted] ***. They do not run the ad without payment up front. They received a check, cashed it and ran the ad. Now they keep sending letters for billing. I went to their SF office in person in August of 2016 and spoke to Robert who states he remembers the check. He looked in the system and verified that the ad was paid for and nothing was owed. He apologized and said he would take care of it. No one every took care of it. This paper runs this scam of conintuously billing for the same ad, even if paid in full. They depend on busy law firms to get confused by this endless billing. I only had one ad for one case and brought the check in myself. I even provided a copy of the check and proof it was cashed to Robert. I sent a copy of the check and proof it was cashed to their office in Atlanta. Nothing makes them go away.
