On 11/17 the gas pump at station 7 stuck on while I was pumping gas. I was cleaning the windows of my truck in view of the pump and stopped it as soon as I saw it was running all over. I was not very happy when the cashier [redacted] told me I had to pay for the gas that had spilled considering the pump was defective. The cashier had me leave my name and number and a manager would call me back. [redacted] the manager called me back leaving a message stating that based on the cashier statement there was only a half-gallon spilled and they go through this all the time and where only willing to give me back a gallon of gas. I called her back explaining that my vehicle only holds 20 gallons max and the amount pumped was 22.737 gallons of premium gas. She then stated again that she goes through this all the time with people trying to scam her. [redacted] stated how I know you weren’t on your phone or sitting in the car, basically accusing me of negligence when the equipment was defective. I then explained that I did not expect anything other than the pump being fixed as I frequent this station regularly and do not want to have this happen again. She then told me that she knew she would have a hard time with me as her cashier left that in her note stating there was only half a gallon spilled and I would be a difficult customer. I explained that gas evaporates at a high rate of speed and find it hard to believe that any assessment of the amount of gas spilled would not be accurate. I then explained to her that this does not make me feel respected as a regular customer and I would not be patronizing the establishment any longer. She was extremely rude defending her statement that everyone was out to scam her and she had to believe what her employee said even after explaining the facts that the vehicle only holds so much. She then threatened she would watch the video which I replied please do so then you will see I was by the pump and the large puddle of gas on the ground. I then explained that this was not going to be resolved with customer service such as hers and would find another gas station to go to. As it was dark at the time I am examining my vehicle for any potential damages that this may have caused to the paint. It is unfortunate that this type of behavior exists in a customer driven business such as this.
