Complaint: ***
I am rejecting this response because:*We would like our faulty floor replaced as we have requested.*** *** has stated they had received a request for repair on 12/27/ This is correct, the builder came out to inspect the issues and requested Coun**y Side come out for repair This was done and a board was replacedThis is the board that my daughter received the splinter in her footOne month later, they came back out and replaced two boards These areas have popped up at random location throughout the home Some in the major walkways, some under an area rug and some butted up to the baseboard All areas have popped up for no rhyme or reason Coun**y Side also attempted repairing the boards with the ***er/putty combination Once telling me to use a "Sharpie" ***er to color in the defected areas This has been told to me on two different occasions.Coun**y Side has noted, "Hardwood is a natural product that with climate and moisture conditions will expand and con**act, which is natural They also stated they did a moisture test of my home and found it to be within indus**y standards per The National Hardwood Flooring Association So, my floor should not have this many issues per the expansion and con**action theory they are pushing In the fifth paragraph of Coun**y Sides response, they state the areas that the manufacturer and *** witnessed are repairable by either board replacement or using the matching stain /putty kit This kit does work perfectly for blemishes in the flooring However, it was not to be used to replace and repair the s**uctural integrity of the boardWhen we are missing wood due to splintering, this putty will not replace those missing areas Again, I was told to use a "Sharpie" style ***er to fix or "color" in some of the defects.School field did mention having an independent inspection performed on the hardwood floor That cost was to be $which *** stated his company could not absorb *** then stated they could cover $and I could cover $ That notion was immediately turned down by me I do not feel I should be on the hook for half of this cost as it is a faulty floor and I am attempting to get warranty work to replace the floor At that time, I made contact with *** *** of ** *** (Builder) *** also stated this was not a cost that I should have to absorb and it was indeed a cost to Coun**y Side as a part of doing business. In Coun**y Sides final paragraph they state they noted 12-areas ***ed with blue tape The actual count was areas Of those areas, *** did ask what was wrong with three different locations to which I did respond I was unsure At one point you could see the flooring separating from the other planks, to which I was informed, this was "normal" This location was one of the three *** asked about As for the information about my daughters foot, that just is not accurate I informed *** (Builder Supervisor) on his visit which was in December of I also informed *** and "***" (Rep from Hardwood manufacturer) when they were at my house inspecting the floor I even demons**ated what took place with my daughter while both of them looked on *** made mention to me, "He hoped she was ok" She was, it could have been a lot worse as the splinter was approximately inches long.To further my concern for Coun**y Sides lack of assistance in this issue, I have sent approximately emails directly to *** *** requesting a price estimate for replacement of our floorOne of which he did respond (first request May 26th) stating he would have something for me the next week Only to never receive itSome of these request have been included on the status of the independent inspection None of these request have been answered To this day, I still am unaware of the cost of this replacement I feel, *** and Coun**y Side are attempting to drag this issue out in the hopes I give up When speaking to the independent inspector while at my home, he stated the report would be completed in 10-business days and he did the report himself That was on June 2nd To this date, we still have not heard a word from anyone in regards to our faulty flooring.Today, my wife reached out to *** via email asking for an update and requesting for a cheaper replacement in an effort to meet half way to get this issue resolved She suggested replacing the floor with a Pergo/Laminate style flooring This suggestion was in good faith, **ying to fix this issueWith this request we have our floor fixed at our new home and Coun**y Side provides this as warranty work to close our complaint at a cheaper cost to them *** responded, stating again, he was unsure what the delay was and he left messages for all involved *** stated nothing about our middle ground attempt to settle this issue.At this point, we feel all possibilities are open for replacing our default flooring
