County Dental in Fishkill

Review: I took my children to County Dental in December of 2013.My daughter [redacted] needed a temp. filling. I was told my insurance would cover everything. I never received a bill until eight months later I went to make apps. for cleanings and received a call back saying I owed $250.00. When I questioned them regarding the charge they had no information to give me. They never sent me a bill and could not tell me anything about the charges. I cancelled my both my daughters appointments for the next day which is today. I then received a phone call trying to get me to come back for the appointments they still did not have information on the charges they claim I owe. I will never go to them again, I am confused how I was told everything was covered when now they claim it was not!!Desired Settlement: I would like a explanation as to why I was told everything was covered and as to why I never received a bill.I do not want to pay something I was told would be covered.

Review: My wife and myself had 2 cavities each filled in October of 2013. We were scheduled to return in January to each have 2 more filled. My appointment was first. The dentist informed me that our insurance didn't cover the vanity items like desensitization and white fillings from the Oct visit. I said that I wasn't aware of that. I was told the price was $100 a tooth. 50 for the white fillings, and 50 for the desensitizer. I was told to sign a key pad and continued on with my procedure for the next two cavities. As I was sitting there I realized that not only were my teeth not covered, but either were my wife's. We were up to $600 after I had the two cavities filled. My wife and I discussed this in the waiting room before her procedure and County Dental informed us of the dollar amount. My wife decided not to go through with her procedure that day. We immediately called our insurance agent and discovered that the procedures were covered and already paid for through them in full. We got in touch with the dentist office and told them that information. It wasn't until we decide to cancel our April cleaning appointment that we then received a bill stating we owed them $400. This bill was now for a desensitizing agent per tooth, and $100 co-pay. We once again contacted our insurance and found that the dentist office never placed the desensitizer in the original claim to them. The dentist office expected to get paid out of pocket for the $400. We questioned the co-pay of $100 and it was removed. We tried many times to get answers to our questions and were always told someone wasn't in or would get back to us. No one ever did. My wife went to the office and was told the dentist wasn't in until next Tuesday. They would contact us. They never did. We called them on Tuesday and we were told they were in all in a meeting and the dentist was with patients. When we finally got a call back we were told we were no longer welcome in the office. Not a Problem. All we want is to resolve our bill.Desired Settlement: A patient should be aware and told about what procedures will be administered. They should be given a statement of what occurred during the appointment. This way they can then be sure that what insurance is being charged for is what occurred. If something isn't covered by insurance then the patient would easily be able to see and understand what they are responsible for. We are willing to pay the $100 for the desensitizing agent that I was told I was receiving in the January visit.
