First to address the patient's concern about the dental office "over billing the insurance company." This cannot happen. If one filling is done, the office cannot bill for 2 or more fillings. Also, we do not set the price for a filling as it is a price set by the patient's insurance company. The...

fact is that the office losses money due to patients who refuse to pay for a service that is rendered, as is the case with this bogus complaint. The patient's insurance company set the price of a filling at $158 and paid the office $52.80 leaving the remaining $105.20 as "patient responsibility." These amounts are shown on the insurance EOB and copies have been mailed to both the patient and the office. The patient did not pay the office that amount. Therefore, there is a balance owed to the office and the balance is the "patient responsibility."Second, the patient claims that the office tries to "scam their patients." Another fraudulent claim made by this patient. The dentist provided a service, the patient did not pay - where is the scam?Third, the patient claims that she was sent to collections. Again, this is a fraudulent claim. The billing statement that she received is clearly on our office letterhead, with our mailing address, and makes no reference to a collection agency, because, there is no collection agency involved. The only way this patient will ruin her credit is through her own action or inaction, not by going to the dentist.Thank you.Rockland County Dental Services

I showed up for my scheduled appointment in which I paid my copay and waited in the lobby for a few minutes. I was then called over to the desk and was told I never confirmed I was coming to the appointment so the dental hygienist left for the day. I had my appointment for 6 months and showed up as scheduled. I had no intentions of canceling my appointment. I was not offered someone else on staff to do the cleaning nor was I offered to make another appointment. I asked for my refund and I will not be returning as a customer. This is not the first time I have had an issue. There have been numerous times the office has canceled my appointment due to their scheduling issues.

Review: Fraudulently billed insurance for a procedure they never did.

My family used to be patients at County Dental until our insurance through the PBA sent us a letter telling us to no longer use them and that if we did, the PBA would no longer cover charges as they had issues with the practices with County Dental.

We found a new dentist and recently in January 2016 my son had sealants put on his teeth. I received a letter in the mail from our dental provider and they brought to my attention that 4 teeth were not covered by our insurance as they were previously billed for by another provider. I knew this couldn't be right as each time County Dental told us he needed sealants on his teeth it would be a cost of $15.00 per tooth. I declined the sealants each time as I had consulted with another hygienist and she told me not to put the sealants on until his permanent teeth came in as sealants are only covered once in a lifetime, so it did not make sense to put them on baby teeth.

I reached out to our insurance through the PBA and they told me that County Dental billed them for four sealants on teeth 19, 14, 3 and 30 and that they did pay County Dental. This was not right, he NEVER received the sealants.

I called County Dental and was put on the phone with the Office Manager who was an extremely rude man who would not let me get a word in. He continually talked over me and told me "Well, you can't prove if we put them on or not so too bad" and he proceeded to laugh.

This is not the first time they billed for a procedure incorrectly. My husband had work done and they charged us $1800 out of pocket and when I wrote the check for the balance of $1000 (I had previously paid $800), I went home and called the PBA only to find out it was a covered procedure and I had to put a stop payment on the check and when I confronted them about it they said that it must have been a glitch and that they wouldn't refund the $800 but would use is as a credit to be applied toward other services. We fought back and forth with them about this for over a year and to date...never used the credit and no longer use the dentist.Desired Settlement: I would expect them to either refund what they billed to the PBA for the four sealants that were never placed or pay my outstanding bill with my current dentist which is $136.00.

At this point we have reached out to an attorney and will proceed with legal action if necessary.
