The unit was purchased 3/29/and had a year warranty On 11/15/14, the unit had a light issue so we replaced a control which fixed the problem On 3/4/15, the ice maker quit working so we replaced a gasket kit which fixed this issueAfter this date, we have no other records of repairing the ice maker for this unit The repairs were warrantied by Frigidaire under the year warranty still at this point This time when the customer called, his unit was past the warranty period When units go out of warranty, we have a service charge to come out and diagnose the issueIt is + tax Our repairs are warrantied for daysWhen I explained this to the customer, he became even more upset and started yelling and saying he's not paying to fix his icemakerI advised him to call Frigidaire and he stated he already had and they wouldn't do anything for himOn all appliances, if you have issues in the first year, it is wise to buy an extended warranty plan which is offered at the time of purchase from the dealerFrigidaire will still offer an extended warranty plan even if the appliance already has had issues, which I advised the customer to purchaseMy technicians and office staff always advise our customers to buy an extended warranty because most appliances have electronics that no one knows when or why they fail Customer was very irate, screamed over me on the phone and would not listen to reason Unfortunately, I cannot offer the customer free service because I would have to do that for every customer who's appliance fails after the 1st year This matter is out of our control at this point

The unit was purchased 3/29/14 and had a 1 year warranty.  On 11/15/14, the unit had a light issue so we replaced a control which fixed the problem.  On 3/4/15, the ice maker quit working so we replaced a gasket kit which fixed this issue. After...

this date, we have no other records of repairing the ice maker for this unit.  The repairs were warrantied by Frigidaire under the 1 year warranty still at this point.  This time when the customer called, his unit was past the warranty period.  When units go out of warranty, we have a service charge to come out and diagnose the issue. It is 75.00 + tax.  Our repairs are warrantied for 90 days. When I explained this to the customer, he became even more upset and started yelling and saying he's not paying to fix his icemaker. I advised him to call Frigidaire and he stated he already had and they wouldn't do anything for him. On all appliances, if you have issues in the first year, it is wise to buy an extended warranty plan which is offered at the time of purchase from the dealer. Frigidaire will still offer an extended warranty plan even if the appliance already has had issues, which I advised the customer to purchase. My technicians and office staff always advise our customers to buy an extended warranty because most appliances have electronics that no one knows when or why they fail.  Customer was very irate, screamed over me on the phone and would not listen to reason.  Unfortunately,  I cannot offer the customer free service because I would have to do that for every customer who's appliance fails after the 1st year.  This matter is out of our control at this point.
