It was extremely bad experience! Owner refuse to fix patio work done by his company and violating contract WarrentyProject less than one year old and already many issues and problems

The company installed brick pavers on my walkway and driveway in Our contract states that all work carries an eight-year warranty against sifting, settling and uneven wear I have had to call them three times to make repairs to sifting and settling on my walkway They have come out twice to make repairs and I have had the exact same problem happen for the third time I contacted them in the fall of and was told I had to wait and call back during the spring of When I contacted them this spring, the owner refused to honor the contract stating that I was out of warranty and very rudely informed me that is my problem and not his I am still under contract as it hasn't been eight years Additionally, the two times he scheduled workers to come out he refused my request for a call to inform me that they would be working on my property He told me it was not worth his time to call me

Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (3000, 17, 2014/08/10) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
This is an interesting response, considering Countywide has been out on two seperate occassions in the last six years and have half heartedly fixed each of the areas under the warranty they are now saying never existedTwo neighbors and an email are available as proof Countywide has repaired all areas under fire at NO CHARGE to usIm pretty sure that means during those occasions the warranty he is saying never existied was in playWhile some of the response is true, no warranty was issued at the time of purchase of the home, one was issued at the time of work completed and torn out, as the reciept of work shows, this is not an estimate*** knows the "unsigned estimate", was given to us AFTER the work was complete and once everything had to be pulled out due to him not calling the village and what he installed was against ordinanceAs stated in my original complaint, in leiu of money back to us, he agreed to warranty work on ALL BRICKWORKI have copies from the village with dates of when they called me to complain and when everything was torn outThe problem with the fabricated story Countywide has chosen to put in writing, is this "unsigned estimate" is dated a month after his work was torn out, as I have documentation to show per village filesThis is a lie and an attempt at defamation of character
Putting something in writing on a professional site accusing us of fabricating work done, accusing us of never having a warranty at all, as well as the document being passed on as work never doneIt was unsigned due to an agreement happening AFTER the factCurious to see how the Revdex.com now deals with a lie being posted by an accredited business
Final Business Response /* (4000, 19, 2014/08/21) */
I will address each comment:
The occasions that County Wide attempted to fix her wall were done as a courtesy only, NOT an obligation/warrantyAgain, that project was done a year or more prior to the complainant owning the propertyEven had there been a warranty with the builder - it would not have transferred to the new owner
The unsigned estimate that she has submitted was for the sidewalk that was done while she owned the propertyThe reference to warranty is for THAT work only
Also as a courtesy, Unilock and County Wide had arranged for a resolution to the entire problem and she had agreed to it - to pay $toward the costSHE backed out of the agreement when County Wide could not meet her timelineTHIS WHOLE ISSUE COULD HAVE BEEN RESOLVEDShe is the one who decide not to go through with it
There was a court date in July - she was asked to produce a contract - which she did/could notThe judge gave her an extension on a future court date to produce the documentAs of this date, she has not done soThat is because it does not exist
The bottom line is - she wants warranty on work that was done prior to her ownership of the propertyBecause County Wide was courteous enough to do some repairs on that work as a good will effort, she is now holding it against us acting as though we are obligated to continue to do so
This needs to endShe has no contract and we have no obligation to work for herShe should not be allowed to bring negative charges against usThis has dragged on way too long
NOTE FROM THE Revdex.com:
As this matter is in the court system we are closing your complaint and judging it resolved as the court will resolve the matter in some manner
We regret that we are unable to assist you further with this matter

I just had a hardscaping project completed by Countywide Landscaping at my home It involved multiple retaining walls in a heavily slopped area that need to be able to support the weight of large vehicles ( > 35,lbs) I was very impressed with the design process and the crew that did the work They were very focused on my satisfaction and worked very hard
The end result looks beautiful and looks to be very well engineered
I plan to hire Countywide again for an even larger project in
Great company to work with Best of all, no surprises

County Wide takes every measure possible to satisfy our customersWe are completely taken aback by this complaint for two reasons: 1) County Wide did a walk
through with the customer at the time of completion and we were paid in full2) The customer has not contacted us once since the final walk/payment to let us know that she was unhappy with the work
The total project contract that was signed was $65,(copy attached)
When the contract with *** *** was signed, she was looking for a less expensive alternative for her drivewayTo do the area in question with brick, the cost would have been $12,The charge for using the Klingstone was actually $2400.00, not $The $line item included reusing her bricks and resetting them in another area - that cost was $
We initially ordered (7) 5-gallon buckets for this projectWe contacted Kingstone regarding the pump system and how to apply the product and they were the ones who recommended using the buckets with holes in themOnce the buckets of product were used, we informed the customer that we completely underestimated the amount of product and needed to order additional productWe asked the customer if she was willing to pay for just the material and we were told NOWe ordered the additional product at our expense
We purchased a total of (17) five-gallon buckets, not (see attached invoices)The total cost of the product alone (not including labor) was $The cost to the customer was only $- County Wide absorbed the additional expense for the material and the labor
Our opinion is that the customer is now having buyer's remorse saying that she doesn't like the look months after the project was doneThe customer was completely satisfied at the time of the walk through, paid the balance owed without hesitation and has not made any attempts to contact us regarding this or any other issue since the project was finished
The customer was given two options for the driveway and chose the less expensive optionThe fact that she now just doesn't like the way it looks is not a County Wide issueThe product was applied as recommended by the manufacturer and although the charge to the customer was much less than the cost to County Wide, we finished the project as contracted, were paid in full and never contacted again
If the customer wants to have the product removed and replaced by another company, she should have to do so at her own expense

This is just more "he-said, she-said".  We did several walks with her and each time she pointed out issues she wanted us to resolve before she would make the final payment.  The customer had her final walk and paid in full.  There has not been ANY communication since.   The customer is stating that we convinced her to use the Klingstone product because they were going to put a garage there in the future - then why is she wanting it removed now.  The $2000 for reusing her bricks entailed lifting, installing additional base, compacting and relaying.  That is the charge.  We purchased the materials as I proved; we receive invoices AFTER the product is shipped so her questioning the date is moot.  We absolutely want the customer to be satisfied.  The fact that we went from being paid in full (on July 8) and then had no further contact regarding her dissatisfaction, to a complaint with the Revdex.com upsets us tremendously.  County Wide is willing to resolve this.   We will agree to [redacted] request to cut out the puddled areas and replace the rock and recoat areas that are not covered.

Revdex.com:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.  We thank County Wide for seeing that there is and always had been an issue with the parking pad and for being willing to repair it.  We are not the kind of people that would hold payment because something went wrong so of course we paid for the project in full.  We are the kind of people that expect as close to perfection as possible for what was promised to us.  Thank you for understanding where we are coming from and for finishing the project properly.

Sincerely,
[redacted]

Attached is an email string documenting our communications with Ms. [redacted].  She was advised that the reason she is having recurring issues with her pavers is due to lack of maintenance.  When the repair is done to the shifting bricks, poly sand must be installed – she was advised to...

do this and she did not.  Sand is not a warranty item.  Sand is a regular maintenance requirement (copy of [redacted] Maintenance Guide is attached).  As an example - if you don’t change the oil/keep oil in your car and the engine fails, the dealer will not honor any warranty.  This is the same thing.  If regular maintenance is not done, the warranty does not apply.  If maintenance isn’t done, the pavers will shift/sink.  We did make the repairs in the past even though she has not maintained her pavers.  We also went out AGAIN a week ago (prior to our knowing about this claim) and made the repair AND installed the sand – which is not a warranty item  – only in the area in the picture.  The entire paved area is in need of maintenance; no maintenance has been done to any of the pavers as required.  The pavers are in need of power washing and resanding and will continue shift as more sand deteriorates.  Therefore, it is our opinion that she has voided any remaining warranty she may have due to lack of maintenance.  Ms. [redacted]’s claim is completely unfounded and since we did make the repair as was requested in her desired settlement, we feel this claim should be closed as unfounded and resolved.  Regards, Rhonda [redacted] / Office [email protected] Wide Landscaping Office: (630) 365-3412 Fax: (630) 405-1749 42W891 Beith Rd.
