Vehicle was towed to shop for a no start conditionTechnician first scanned vehicle for dtc codes that may cause this concernafter scan performed found no dtc codes in system at allUpon visual inspection technician noticed that vehicle was very low on fuelTechnician noticed
that this is an all-wheel drive unit and due to that fact this vehicle was manufactured with a split fuel tank as the drive shaft to the rear wheels runs under fuel tankThe fuel pump is designed with an inlet line that runs from the left side of the fuel tank, over the hump that splits the tank to the right side of fuel tank as to draw fuel from when fuel gets lowIt is very common for this inlet line to either fall off fuel pump or even kinkThe only way to repair or even diagnose is to remove fuel pump from the tank assemblyTo do this procedure the fuel tank had to be removed to access pump assyThe fuel tank mounting bracket shave to be removed which is held in with stud nuts that twist onto the studs that are welded to tank assemblyDue to excessive rust ,rot and corrosion these studs are prone to break on removal of tankCustomer then was notified of these issues and customer approved repairTechnician removed fuel tank form vehicle, removed fuel pump assy from the tankWhen technician removed fuel pump he found the inlet line was found laying in the bottom of fuel tankTechnician then placed fuel pump with inlet line and attached inlet line with new clamp into new fuel tank, after new tank installed with corrected inlet tube clamp technician installed complete unit back in vehicleWe then installed fuel in tank and vehicle now starting and running with no further issuesCustomer was then called by Service advisor and informed that repairs were completedCustomer arrived at Courtesy Mitsubishi to pick up vehicle and was able to start and drive unit from Courtesy MitsubishiShould you have any further questions please feel free to contact me at *** ***.sincerely,*** ***- Corporate General Manger Courtesy Auto Group

[This did not solve the problem Yes my son was able to drive off that day but broke down on side of highway again So the problem was not fixed The same exact thing happened as before you fixed it Your dealership misdiagnosed the car therefore replaced a $part that obviously didn't need to be replaced since the car broke down again requiring towing Had the car been diagnosed and fixed correctly it wouldn't have happened again Obviously there was some other issue And never once were we told by your dealership that car was very low on fuel When we had it towed the second time they mentioned this and we put fuel in it So when you had the car you should have told us it needed fuel not a $repair that wasn't necessary Perhaps there was an issue with fuel sensor or something else but considering we were hours away we were just taken advantage of Now we have since gotten rid of the car because we didn't want to have to pay to rediagnose the problem That's what we paid you to do and it wasn't done correctly

[customer does not state numerous issues Customer states same issue twice due to negligence on your part with repairs I am not going to go back and forth on thisIt's a simple fact that if it was repaired correctly it wouldn't have broken down again within weeks The same exact thing happened the first and second time it was towed Therefore it was NOT fixed properlyWe should not have to pay for repairs that didn't fix the problem We wouldn't have had to bring it in and pay for another diagnosis if it was done right the first time Since we paid you $we were not willing to pay again If we weren't so far away we would have brought it back to your dealership for you to fix correctly However just as with the first instance we couldn't have it towed hours so we were stuck with the closest dealership It's a *** and is expected to last more than miles as they have in the past You knew our son was away at schoolYou knew he needed to get home in a matter of days as we explained to you and that's when the $repair was quoted If the car had not broken down again and required towing then we wouldn't be having this conversation And had my initial complaint directly to you been answered then it wouldn't have gone to the Revdex.com Now that it's on file with them you want to respondThat in itself is guilt

Thank you for your help in this matter.I have reviewed the response submitted by the business and have determined that the response does...

satisfy my issues and/or concerns in reference to complaint #[redacted]. I understand that by choosing to accept the business response that my complaint will be closed as resolved.

We repaired the vehicle properly. The technician was very accurate in the diagnose process. Unfortunately, older vehicles with numerous issues as the customer themselves state are subject to requiring numerous repairs as well as breakdowns. We have no interest in taking advantage of this customer or any other.

I have spoke with the customer and we have come to a resolution that is satisfactory to them.[redacted]Courtesy Auto Group
