Courtesy Dental and Orthodontics Reviews (3)

The reception staff keeps their billing girl at the front. This young lady calls billing to verify information and gives out social security numbers along with birthdates and names while gathering/giving information in front of other patients. They also make patients wait anywhere from 10 minutes or longer at check out while they input their information into the computer and will not let a patience walk away until all of their information is in the computer. They claim to not give courtesy calls since they are only in the office 2 days out of the week for ortho. They have canceled my appointments THREE times in less than six months the day of the appointment.Product_Or_Service: Dental / OrthoDesired SettlementI will be looking to go to another ortho. Waiting to hear back from my insuance / grievance department. I have paid about $1,200 from my pocket. I would like a refund for my $1,200 and would like to make the Dr. aware of what's going on. Business Response After a detailed review of the patient's file Senior Management decided that a refund is not warranted in this case since the individual did receive treatment. If patient would like to transfer out please inform the office so they can prepare the proper transfer forms.

My daughter had 5 dental fillings to be done. On August 24, 2016, we went to Courtesy Dental and I was required to pay $229.00 for all 5 fillings before she went back into the chair. My daughter is 13 and became to scared to get any work done that day. We made another appointment for September 25, 2015, en which she was able to get 3 fillings done. We made another appointment to get the last two fillings done, which was in October or November 2015. On that day, she became scared again and the doctor finally gave up. The front office stated they owed us a refund on the two fillings for the co-pay and would send the request to their business office that day. I have called them in November, December, January, February, and March. Nobody will call me back and nobody will return the $127.00 they owe me. The insurance company has already paid on December 21, 2015. The co-pay for the 3 fillings was $102.00. I paid $229.00 for 5 fillings on August 24, 2015.Desired SettlementI want my money back please. Business Response We do apologize for the delay in getting this issue resolved. As of today we have instructed the billing department to process a refund for overpayment. This process could take up to 14 business days to complete. Thank youConsumer Response (The consumer indicated he/she ACCEPTED the response from the business.)That is fair. I will patiently wait.

I went to Courtesy Dental [redacted] because they were close to my home I called and made initial appointment and told them I needed extractions I wanted all my teeth pulled for Dentures. My first appointment they took x-rays and [redacted] had a plan drawn for partials I informed them I wanted full dentures and he told me it was my choice, which it should be as it is my mouth. He said he would do what I asked I made a second appointment for extractions of the really bad teeth in my mouth again before this appointment I called and said I wanted full denture and was hoping to have all teeth pulled at this appointment. after the extractions and I realized he didn't pull them all I told him again I wanted full dentures he again said it was my choice, but informed me to take a few days and think about it, I have thought about it and talked it over with my family for years I know what I wanted already before my first appointment.I called a week later to make another appointment for the rest of the extractions and was now told he would not do what I asked that I could go to another dentist, had he originally said he would not do it I would not have contracted him to do any work and went elsewhere where they would have done what I asked,I feel this to be very unprofessional behavior you should not tell a patient it is their choice then when they inform you of their wishes you decide otherwise for them and refuse to do as they ask. I came to him with almost all top teeth already extracted as I had already started the process of dentures in another state before I moved.I have been to several dentists over the years and always had done what I asked, this is a first that I have had a dentist refuse treatment, also as this was my first encounter with this dentist and he does not know my dental history as I do he should listen to his patients.I purchased a dental plan for his dental office, now I have a dental plan for his office and have to go elsewhere, now I have to buy another dental plan for somewhere else.Desired SettlementI also had paid forward for services to be preformed and was informed now it would be at least a week before I could get a refund of the amount I had paid. If I do not receive this money in a week I will be taking legal action.Business Response Patient's refund was processed in the billing department on 7-22-15Consumer Response (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)It says refund was issued on the 22nd thru their billing department but it has been 8 days and I have not received a check, email or call to let me know the refund has been processed I was told this should only take a week also their response does not say the amount of the refund as I feel a full refund is in order I would never have had the work started with this dentist and now I have sporadic teeth to eat with and have to wait to find another dentist until I have the refund back plus the money I paid out for the dental plan that I now cannot use. I would like an email letting me know when the business paid and how much Final Consumer Response
